WOW, that is horrible. FIGHT IT!! I called to refill Provigil and they were saying instead of paying $70 (cause insurance pays the rest) like I did last year until by deductible was met, now it will be $801 for my portion...ummm no thank you. So I am awaiting a return call from Anthem.

My deductible will remain the same as far as I know and patient assistance picks that up so I pay nothing but when my husband goes on disability, we will be too young LOL to go on Medicare and won't qualify for insurance so there is no way we can pay for my meds. It will pay him too much to qualify for assistance but not enough to pay the mortgage and the meds. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. LOL

Contact the manufacturer directly... a lot of times they have programs to offer their meds at a reduces rate if not free depending on the financial situation you are in. Check with the MS Society as well. AND, your own neuro should be able to direct you to someone who can help because you certainly are not the only one who cannot afford $52,000 worth of meds in a year.

Teva is running scared now and their stocks have plummeted because of BG-12 coming out soon and they see their market share going to decline significantly. They have also bought out several biologic firms and are now in the process of producing generic Lipitor so someone has to pay the bonuses and salaries and acquisition costs and guess who - US the consumer. Call Shared solutions and get as much as you can delivered under the current insurance plan with TEVA picking up the copay. I just got new insurance which is abominable which does not allow me to purchase 3 months at a time mail order even though from Medco as before but I must go to a local pharmacy pay 3X the deductible for 1 month that I paid for 3 and now I have to make sure Shared Solutions will pick it up. If they are not careful everyone will switch to Biogen Idec and they will be left with generics only. Copaxone is their big money maker and they prey on our need for the drug so don't let them get away with it. Fight them at every turn. Make them GIVE you the drug if need be. Talk to your doc and have him get samples (YES they sample docs like crazy). Go to the dinners and make a stink. Do what you must but get your drugs if you need them. Good luck

After 2 yrs on SSDI I got medicare part D. There is no way I could afford it otherwise. I just marvel at these drug companie who make drugs for an illness that renders most of us unable to work and earn real money. Where do they think this money is going to come from.?

Ampyra has gone up $100 a month out of pocket according to a guy in my MS support group.

wow! The costs are sure something that bites us! At least be thankful you have an insurance company! There are some of us who don't have insurance companies, and therefore can't afford the drugs at all. I am sorry that your med cost went up. I hope you get it figured out soon!

All of the costs of the drugs I take have gone up effective Jan. 1, 2012. Say goodbye to the increase you got on your SSDI/SSI/SSA!
