Greatest thing I ever bought. I got the one with the ice packs(11) that way I can put in as many as I want & where I want them.

Thanks! I get so tired and drained of energy when its hott I cant stay in direct sunlight wit heat or I poop out lol soooo the vest is a def good idea!..I'm hoping for a good summer with tons of activities so i gotta do them while I still can walk..I don't wanna get burnt out!

I got my vest from this program a few years ago and LOVE it! I got the one with 11 packs as well for free :) Its the best because I can't even go outside in anything over 65 degrees normally, I'm so heat sensitive. :(

It's not only a cooling vest but it's also a weight vest and with my bad walking I'm better off just wearing the freezable neckband and on the really hot, hot days I just wear that lol btw, I don't go outdoors and I live alone.....and all my windows have curtains over shades over blinds.

I am looking to get one of these for my hubby or ..my in-laws always get us a gift at X-mas and I am thinking this would be a good gift for both of us. Can you guys give me your advice which one you think would be better.

My initial thoughts are #1 is cheaper but doesn't look like it will cool for as long. The #2 has 4 packs (not 11 therefore lighter) with cooling cells and lasts 3 hours. I am leaning toward #2 as he needs it to stay cool while siting on his dad's boat or sitting while we eat/ visit outside in summer. Then just get 1 extra 4 pack on our own for $35. What are your thoughts?

The one I have is an evaporation type. It is light weight as opposed to carrying around ice packs. There really is no long term preparatin- just add water. The down side is that I do not like felling damp.

I like the cooling affect primarily on my neck. My belly seems to keep cool, even in the hottest of days. None of the vests seem to do that for me. Make sure to have a good supply of cooling scarves. These can be recharged with a glass of ice water at any time and seem to put the cooling where you need it most.

Here is another place that will provide a free vest from MSF (Multiple Sclerosis Foundation) You can do the application online for this one but you do have to register as a member, they also have a choice of what you can request. They also have other programs and grants like for a computer, and grants up to a $1000 to help with many different things. Here is the link to their web site
