About a week ago my leg started feeling as if it was going numb. But now it just feels like its on fire. And my foot feels like its on fire. Anything cold that touches my leg makes it feel even worse. Does anyone get this? What do you do about it?

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. if your dr prescribes neurontin and that works for you!!! it is pretty amazing for so many people - but for me not. i can't tolerate it. or the other medications shared here.
i am prescribed an ointment, sometimes lotion form - lidocaine? and sometimes that helps me a bit.
the part across my back feels like acid burn : (
relaxation helps me - finding a way to mentally take myself away from it. the medical marijuana is a good idea i think. it will work for some people - the people who ... can embrace it. you can eat it in cookies, etc.
it helps to be able to share together here so we know we aren't nuts.
"I have had awful nerve pain, most recently in my leg. So, after looking up info, I learned about supplements that help with nerve pain. So now, I take Alpha Lipoic Acid, B12, CoQ10 and Biotin. After being on them for several weeks, my pain is almost gone in my leg. I have been on Neurotin before, but didn't like the side effects. I have become a believer in supplements and really study up on them before I take them."
