Bruising

Just wanted to ask a quick question re bruising.
My legs have been bruising & occasionaly the arms. The inside of my insidelegs look brown/yellow & have for ages.
While we were on the cruise the right side of my neck looked like it was dirty or going yellow in a patch, it gradually spread to a line (not matching necklace or anything), a few days later same is happening on left side & right side is now loooking horrible with the marks a very obvious yellow. Cant be hidden by collars of polo shirts either which is annoying, not painful at all though.

Just wondered if anyone else has had bruising like this appear for no reason? Havent had it on neck before.
Oh well, just another to add to list & will look great while away in Adelaide this week. We are going to Adelaide tomorrow morning & wont return till very late Sunday night. I am not sure of internet access but think will be able to accsess at friends place (just got to remember passwords) LOL. Will read if cant sign in though as responses will be emailed to me too.

It may be a side effect from medication depending on which one or ones you are taking. I found someone else with a question about bruising and MS, the circumstances may not be the same but the advice still sounds good.

"Q: I have been taking Avonex (interferon beta-1a) for seven years. I have been symptom-free with MS. However, lately I seem to be bruising easily. Should I be concerned?

Dr. Patrick Parcells, MD A:
If you have been symptom-free for seven years on Avonex, you have been doing very well, and obviously the Avonex is working. If you seem to be bruising easily, then it would be appropriate for you to have blood studies done including a blood count as well as platelet count, protime and PTT (which is a partial thromboplastin time), which are measures of bleeding parameters. Rarely, Avonex and the other ABCR drugs can affect bleeding parameters and blood counts. And if you feel as though you are bruising easily, they should be checked. This is a simple blood test that can be arranged through your doctors office."

brusing easy could be a side effect of one of your meds but the thing i think of when i hear bruising is low platelet count. hydrate yourself and maybe see the doc for a complet blood count test

Taking fish oils, anti inflammers, tumeric? That will make you bruise...

Thanks for responses. I am not on any interferons/injections. Not taking fish oils or cortisone & no new medications.
More bruising coming out now so just got to wait till get home & can get dr to test bloods again.
Any ideas welcome

I found a previous post about bruising (very old but still good info). I would still go to the doctor and get checked out to make sure it's not being caused by something else. Take care. :-)

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
