BPPV or Stop the Ride I wanna get off!

The following is a really informative article taken from About.com on vertigo and MS. (and BPPV...which probably means nothing to you if you haven't either read the article or had vestibular therapy) It talks about some of the therapies that help subside some of the spinning room sensations that accompany MS and related vertigo. I personally have had the vestibular therapy and I have to add that while, I'm not as good as I once was at doing the exercises....while I DID, they REALLY did help.

Thanks guys, just sharin' the wealth! (Hope it helps!) Julz, I had the vertigo from the onset of my MS to close to a year, b4 that "dim witted chick" who called herself my MS specialist finally got off her ass and suggested vestibular therapy after this conversation,
Rhonda: "Becky, (not real name) How long am I going to need this cane to walk because of my dizziness?"
Becky: "Rhonda, you're gonna need it forever."
Rhonda: WHAT??!!!!????!!
Becky: "Well, I guess we could give vestibular therapy a try"
DUH! What's did we learn here boys and girls? That all you need to call yourself a medical professional in this country is a stethoscpope. "Moron!" I get angry every time I re-hash that scene.Fast-forward,the vestibular therapy worked marvelously and I've not needed my cane since April (feel free to check out my journal, I tracked the whole process) Also, I had five or six visits to the occupational rehab clinic at the hospital my old neuro (and his ding bat asst) was at. I only had to pay once though. Good luck guys, it did help!
(I just read the part where I "promise" to be nice - HA! I promise to be nice to everyone excepted occupationally challenged medical morons who screw me over!) :o) (but I said this with a smile, does that count?) :o)

Ugh....we should start an MS group, "I HATE NEUROS" ROFLMAO! Seems like we've all run into a few of those jokers who haven't read anything about MS since 1980.

How interesting rhonda! About 4 years ago I sat down at my desk after lunch and the room started spinning. My boss thought I was having a stroke and called an ambulance. Had mri done and doctor said she could not tell if ms or stroke caused it. I did not know the spinning or tilted room could be caused by crystals in ear hair. Seems like doctor could have given me more of an explanation. Thanks for the info!

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
