It's a shame but impossible that they can't come up with a drug that's affordable. They are all $4k a month or more now if you don't have insurance. There are assistance programs which I use, but once my COBRA runs out, I will be going off the meds. I am seriously considering dropping them all together now. $1100 per month for the COBRA is so not in my budget. I hate this stupid disease!

I get my assistance through the assistance fund, but they also help with insurance premiums and are the only ones I know who does, not sure if they help with both at the same time or not but worth a look

I'm waiting not so patiently for this drug! lol I have heard nothing but great things about it from people who used it in the trials. I looked at the 2 links you posted but neither of them were the Tecfidera site. Where is it?

I got Avonx for free for 2 yrs.. Unfrtunely, Rebif wks better, but it costs $$$$$$$.

This stalling tactic by TEVA is based on their fear of losing marketshare and $$$ position . Isn't it pathetic that they are stalling the release of a drug that would help MS patients and more then likely become the first line treatment when MS is dxd? Or because JCV + who need a drug replacement option.
BG-12's efficacy and ease of use (2 pills per day no needles required) drug will be very appealing to potential Copaxone users.
At the end of the day, sadly it's all about the $$$...
Also I don't care for the new named Techdidera. BG -12 is much easier to say and also remember.
Still I anxiously wait now that I had to go off the wonder drug Tysabri last Nov because I'm JCV positive

Sylvia, when Tysabri came out some people had improvements. Is this the way BG 12 could work? I have not heard anything about the effects as I did with Tysabri . What things have you heard?

I went througha patch of time where we moved and before the new insurances went into effect and even before at tha time we knew if they were going to cover me. I got covered by some patient assistant programs based soley on income. No insurance involved. I hope this helps. I know another friend of mine, who got turned down by his insurance, he applied direct to the drug company assistance program. They gave him two years free. Don't give up. The MS Society can hook you up with a social worker if the paperwork is to much. I've done that before too. Hang in there. I like the pic of your dog.
