I once got a kitten before he was weened. A can of tuna & the juice is how I got him to eat.

Congrats! A new pet is always fun, especially when it's a cat. Kittens are full of energy until they crash... then they crash hard!

I'm not a huge cat fan, but when I was diagnosed with MS, I felt so isolated. My boyfriend would leave for 9 hours a day and I had to stay home because I couldn't walk or see.

Finally my boyfriend got me a kitten and it was just so nice to not be home alone. It was a huge relief to have something to blame the random noises that my apartment made on.

It is so nice having a pet. I'm really really happy for you!

I think you will find alot of joy in having a pet. The kitty will come to love you unconditionally and be your best friend when you are feeling low. You never know what personalilty a cat will take on, but I hope it is a good one. Congratulations!

He alot of work for a kitten but hes eatting regular food now. he is very cute.

I'm sure while you are busy bonding with your new best friend that you'll find many happy times! I've had cats my entire life and I have three of them now (ages 18, 11 and 5). My life would not be complete without them and I hope I'll always be able to have at least one (preferably two) of them (one to keep the other one company).
My cats give me something to live for, something to share love with and sanity in an otherwise crazy world.

We have three it seems every year my wife wants one more. I was like no at first I have had cats all my life. She wanted the new one cause he was on a farm and they were going to give him to the pet place? Also there was another set of kittens that were dying. It might has been my wifes way of suckering me into getting another cat by saying that. Maybe the cats were a way for God to give me a friend when no one home? The two oldest cats ages 2 and 3 play fetch. They are different plus the 3 yr old one opens doors and pulls out drawers.

I believe so Oakenwood! They are there for you all of the time. When I was in the hospital, my husband said that my cat that is now 5 would not leave my bed. She slept on it all alone and sad she was. Finally, after I'd been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks she finally joined the other two that sleep together in the other room. I was so happy to see her when I got out of the hospital as I missed her so much and the other two as well.
I'm a strong believer in cats needing a companion cat in case no one is home. They seem to do well in pairs.
I think your wife knew this would be good for you and the best thing about cats is that they don't require a lot of work to maintain and are not nearly as costly as dogs are to feed and care for (like veterinarian bills for example).
I swear, I'd crack up without them. They'd have to lock me up and throw away the keys! (lol ... I think ...) ;)

awwww, i love saying that. cats are awesome and kittens are absolutely the cutest. happy for you. :-)

we made him a bed in a box tonight it was bed time and he crawled it on his own. : )

Kittens are the best! I've had many cats in my life time.

I hope it will bring her a smile! Check with the vet about the dry food. Should be fine. I raised my kittens/cats on dry food. I give them "free feed" (24 hour availability).

Max is his name. We are giving kitten formula in morning and at nite then he eats dry food during day. We will cut him off formula after next week he will be 6 weeks then.

We had two "MAXES" in the family. A good solid name! It sounds like you are taking fabulous care of Max! Enjoy the little guy!
