I had one treatment from my Mother in-law but then she got really busy and we have not had a chance to try it some more but Im definately hoping to start again.

Yes! I do acupuncture and it helps a TON esp. w/ headaches. Other pains are so-so but with headaches its really good at prevention. I have far less headaches between sessions then I do when I'm not going. I recommend acu. for sure!

Hum did you read the article about how they twist the needles 200x a minute. Ive never had that done but Im going to have to try it. It sounds promising.. : )

I do 5-element acupuncture regularly. Of all the drugs and treatments I have tried it has done me the most good. I was very skeptical going into it but it works so I keep going. It has really helped with pain and I just feel a lot better and less fatigued.

Thank you so much for posting this link. I dont think people understand that its completely different from regular acupuncture. I didnt until I read this. Ive since forwarded this to both of my accupuncturist and I will start getting these treatments in December. I will keep you posted!!

To answer your question, yes, acupuncture is effective! I watched my wife go from paralyzed, lying in a hospital bed for several months, to gradually gaining back her mobility thanks to acupuncture. She continued treatment after getting out of the hospital and, five years later, there are no traces of her paralysis. Now shes doing great, and back working semi-full time.

My wifes treatment had some elements of scalp acupuncture, (like rotating the needles and treating the scalp,) but this was not always the case. Her first 8 months of acupuncture treatment, done by her mother, was covering my wifes entire body.


If youre looking for an acupuncture practitioner, I think that you shouldnt get caught up just on scalp acupuncture. There are many (!) different branches of acupuncture method that are very effective.

It seems more practical to find a good acupuncturist who is good at whatever style of acupuncture they specialize in. Be a shame to pass up a good acupuncturist just because he isnt doing scalp acupuncture. His methods could be equally effective so you should give him / her a shot. Probably more important to ask what their experience is in treating MS or other neurological diseases, and whether they treat holistically vs. just locally.
