Yep, not uncommon.

Psoriasis, Diabetes Type 1, MS

I have Habermann's disease along with
MS and it is an autoimmune disease as
well, but I somehow think that MS is
the cause, but I can't prove it.

I have suffered from moderate psoriasis since preschool(I'm 26 now). I was just dx'd with MS in January and I also wondered if there could be a link. I hate my neuro so I haven't asked him any opinion. When I had my my first "flair-up" my skin cleared up nearly completly. I was really thrown for a loop cuz I've had it my entire life and usually when stressed out it gets worse. Here i was on the verge of a nervous break-down and my skin was smooth for the first time in years!! Now, in retro-spect I am not really sure if it cleared before or while I was on IV steroids to treat the flair-up. I hope I don't have another flair up to see if my skin clears up or not, but if/when I do it is something I'm curious about. It sounds strange but I REALLY think that it cleared before because I noticed it was gone when I was getting my IV treatment and it wouldn't have had time for the steroids to take effect yet. Idk this post is probably not at all helpful but I too am curious about people out there with both.

Funny thing....my kid sister who is 5 yrs younger than me got really sick about 4 yrs. ago and dad took her to Michigan University and they discovered she had an Auto immune disorder and it attacked her Liver and she came through her transplant successfully and has been ok. Then about 3 yrs. after I get my dx of MS. With no history in the family is just a very strange occurrence.

Yes...graves disease...that went into remission and I got Reynauds...then Pernicious anemia and bouts now and then with eczema. The MS started 5 years ago with pain by the knee which I was repeatedly sent to PT for with a knee/arthritis problem. Never went away, only got worse. Finally, I took matters into my own hands and found my own doctors -- MS confirmed this summer. My endocrinologist (for Graves) said it is not uncommon to get several autoimmune diseases. I hope I am done. I have Progressive Primary so I cannot take meds -- only baclofen at night and I just got the Bioness L300 last week which helps in walking but too new for me to give a full eval. It needs to be readjusted thru the computer as you use it and your body changes with the new way of movement.

I have hypothyroid, disc degeneration, angio-edema, hives.
You should ask what I don't have. LOL.

I had Hodgkin's disease (cancer) 14 years ago and now found out about my MS last year. What doesn't kill us right?!?!
