I am currently taking Xanax for anxiety, just recently I have been shaking a lot more and have decided to up my dose to one and a half a day, they are .5mg. I don't know if it could be more anxiety or maybe I'm having tremors. Do you think it's safe for me to up the dose, or should I speak to my doc about it? I don't feel anymore stressed but the shaking has gotten worse and the xanax helps. Am I just making excuses for myself? The med does help with the shaking. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

as long as you talk to the dr. soon it probably won't hurt

Personally I would ask your doctor, just incase the Axanax he/she has put you on are at the max strength. your docor will be able to change your meds if they are making you feel worse within yourself.

People use xanax for anxiety AND tremors, so it's ok for that. I take it Valium for both, and they are a close match. But, I also say talk to your Doctor before increasing, unless your prescription was written for "up to 1.5 a day". Does it?

I also believe there are meds that are better to use if you ARE taking them everyday. One is Klonopin. It is longacting, rather than shortacting. Meaning, you can take one a day, and it is slowly released throughout your day.

I have to agree. I would check with the doc first. I take xanax for tremors and anxiety
also. Same strength. No it does not sound like you are making excuses just be safe, you don't want to over dose yourself plus your doc knows what other meds your on and the possible interactions you could have.

Thanx for all of your suggestions, I will talk to my doc soon! I've been fine today, so maybe it was just tremors??? We'll see.

I use Xanax for the same reasons. It definately relieves the shakey feeling I get. I usually take 2 a day .5mg also. My prescription is 1 every 6 hours as needed - check your bottle for yours
