Another flare up

I have been struggling for a few weeks & gradually getting more issues & struggles.
Wnded up Friday really struggling, sat could hardly walk, talk, see etc so went to gp. She agreed need cortisone & has put me on oral cortisone.
The course will run in decreasing strength from 100mg a day down.
Thought it was helping but not sure
Well after not much sleep (thanks to cortisone)I thought I was doing a lot better. I was up soon after 8am (not my Sunday morn usual time) & did a couple of things. Then boom, legs decided to become jelly so I sat down & had brekky, made a jelly & washed brekky dishes & again crashed. By 10am I decided I had a false sense of "good" so have been sitting in chair in front of dvd/tv & lap top. had our little dog in earlier sitting on the chair with his head on my leg. Now got charlie in sitting beside my chair. My two guardians LOL. hunger & thrist have kicked in already too.
Have been a bit shaky with hot/cold alternate. Will wait & see how I am in morning, will prob phone ms clinic to let them know what is happening & get their advice. Worked out the program gp put me on will have me on cortisone tablets till about may so not sure if that is a good idea or not with history of trouble getting off cortisone.
Its the usual damed if do & same if dont.
Have written more detail in journals.

I wake up every day with my guardian looking at me, waiting for my eyes to open. That guardian in one of my precious cats, Miss Jewels. She is so very sweet.

I'd be lost without her. I know she loves me and when I was in the hospital I was told she would not leave my room andthat she just laid on the bed waiting for me to come home. I promised her I would return and I did.

If it wasn't for my cats, I honestly don't know what I would do without them. They are my hope and my cure many times.

I am sorry to read about your horrible struggles right now. I don't know how you go on and I admire your great strength and courage and positive attitude.

I cannot comment on the steroids as I never got into them as I saw what they did to my late uncle who was on a steady dose of them the last 15 years of his life and oh what a mess they made of the poor man. :( NO thanks.

Generally for MS my neurologist gives me IV solu-medrol 1000 mg per day for 3 to 5 days. Before I was officially diagnosed years ago my primary care physician suspected MS and gave me the packs of methylprednisolone oral. They never seemed to help much although of course the relapse would of course eventually resolve on its own. Steroids are just to help the relapse resolve more quickly. I had IVSM during the 3rd week of March for a relapse and frankly it did not work as well for me this time as it has in the past, but I believe my relapse is finally beginning to resolve on its own. I've tried to get more rest and not overdo. My legs were hit among other things and I think I will need therapy to regain strength. I'm on Tysabri and my doctor thinks in time that will help as well, but I've only been on it since January. Take care and keep us posted. I hope you see improvement soon.

Oh, Sue, so sorry this is just going on and on. I have always refused alot of the meds, I am just not that person, so the thougths I would have on the different meds would just be second-hand. It does seem to me that you have been on several things with not that great result. Maybe you could get back to the doc and start over? I mean, something is not going right, and maybe less is more at this time, go down to the bare essentials and work up, see what has what effect. Truth is, they aren't helping so much now, so why not try it a different way?

That's the best I got. I really hope that you get this turned around soon.

Thanks for your responses. I am resting at home & trying to let rest help.
I have done the methylpred the other times & just thought this might be more gentle on the system not so harsh as such a high quantity at once. I did phone the ms clinic that is supposed to be open today but left a message & have not heard back at all. They wont be back till Thursday now so will wait till then.
Feeling very tired & lacking in energy today which isnt my usual result of cortisone so time will tell.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
