I take Provigil and have talked to my doc about going to Aderall because it just keeps me awake and no energy and he says that the Aderall is also a stimulant and would give that energy I'm looking for. I would'nt worry about your doc thinking your an addict if you have a good relation with them. I would ask, why suffer when you don't have to.

I have taken Adderal, didn't work for me, and had bad side effects. I don't think your doc will think you are an addict or anything...... when I received my prescription, I was supposed to take one at 8am and another at noon. Ask for a higher dose........ or maybe 2 doses during the day instead of just one.

The biggest problem I ever had is that those meds gave me a racing heart; and scared the Hell out of me. Interestingly, it was my Primary Care Physician, not my neurologist, who suggested that I ought to try amphetamine.

Surprisingly, that worked like a charm.

And something that my pharmacist explained is that amphetamine has been around for such a long time and that there are so many variations to it that have stood against time. Also, it is dirt cheap because it has been around for so long.

And no, your doctor or pharmacist will not think of you as an addict; but more of an informed patient.

I suffer with EXTREME fatigue. My nuero prescribed the Adderall. Luckily I don't suffer with any side affects like the rapid heartbeat. I take 30mg of Adderall twice a day. I work 11p to 7a. I take the 1st one at 3pm so that it will kick in by the time my son gets off the bus. I take the other one around 11p to help me get through my shift. If it were not for the Adderall I could not get out of bed.

I have an appt on the 21st to talk about fatigue management and I am worried about that exact same thing. Some of these doctors just don't get it. Unless you experience fatigue, you don't understand what it's like. Other people I've talked to who have used it says it works wonders. I'm hoping I can give it a try to. Hope it can work out for you too!

I took Adderall to stay awake as I was sleeping so much. It didn't work. I fall asleep two hours after taking it. I kept trying but all it did was speed up the body as in burned out... no energy at all. I live with fatigue for the past 15 years. Nothing works on it. I tried natural remedies for helping get good sleep, exercise which makes things worse. So I just pace myself and listen to my body.
