Just want to vent a little. I thougt when my husband and I moved to the Houston , Tex. area there would be good neros. WRONG!!! They are all in it for the money. No one returns calls. all you can get in touch with are the machines. I am so disgusted.I have tried 2 of the money hungry (----)and they are the same. Maybe I'll find one that is a little more careing later. Sorry to go off. Feel better now.

yeah just because they have md and after their name doesnt mean they care. it is a shame. keep plugging along. i would keep bothering the receptionist for the neuro to call you back. ukkon

Perhaps you should try a General Practitioner and then get referred to a neuro by him/her. That might be the better route to go. Neuros often only take referred patients.

So sorry to hear this but am ecstatic to know that I am not the only one who has found this to be true! So far I haven't heard from anyone or found anyone with a good "neuro" - perhaps that term is an oxymoron! Good luck.

I've found you need a neuro and 'regular' doc needs to work together well. Having a healthcare team seems to be a good fit.

When my internal med doc retired, I searched for another one with a good working relationship to the neuro I like. Was lucky that didn't take long, and the transition went well.

I know they work well, because one will speak of tests the other does at my visits. This happens even if I haven't had a chance to mention the tests yet. I know they send each other results of tests, and of anything important found in office visits.
