Are you maybe sleeping "too hard"?
I do occationally have 2-3 glasses of vine but pay for it big time the next day. I am very allergic to brewers yeast so this might be the problem for me (I am pretty much allergic to everything). I am also on LDN which cannot be mixed with alcohol so if i drink I have to skip it. Not much partying anymore for me.
I am in such a routine that I am scaring myself. I sometimes feel like Bill Murray in the movie Ground Hog Day. My biggest pet peeve is that when I am in the shower, I cannot remember if I shampoed my hair today, or was that yesterday. I think I then end up washing my hair twice. ( I have short hair, so it does not take all that long). My wife thinks I makethis up.
Since you are an alcholic, maybe you shouldn't have any drinks? It certainly doesn't sounds like your body likes alchol.
As someone else mentioned... Just be very careful mixing your regular meds with alcohol. I once forgot about that, took my amphetamine salts (for fatigue), then drank two glasses of wine and thought my heart was going to explode. Gotta think and plan ahead and watch what your mixing.
If we already have issues with alcohol, it makes it even tougher with our diagnoses. The last couple of years of my drinking changed rapidly!!! I believe I've had MS for awhile & I seriously began drinking in an almost "medicinal" way. Well, it caught up to me! I wasnt "partying" but hiding it.
Its absolutely the worse way to help us feel better, as alcohol takes a huge toll on the body! Especially our bodies! So after a year of being prescribed so many different pills to help w/ my symptoms, which all of them came with such harsh side effects & knowing I cherish how I feel when I dont drink, I decided to go get my Medical Marijuana card. Never really been a pot smoker, (made me parinoid!) After tons of research & talking w/ others, I did it!!! Let me just say that I still dont smoke it, I eat it in chocolate form. I have seriously never felt better!!! I've slept soundly for the first time in years, no leg cramps @ night, no pins & needles, OH!!!! & I can POOP!!!! (i know, TMI) but I just want to share this because it has changed everything!!! I just cant understand the "Stigma" on it at all!!
So now, I'm not only going to be an advocate for our MS, but also for Medicinal Marijuana!!!! You've never heard about people being found in their hotel rooms dead from to much pot! Its always "prescription" drugs!
Hey, bottom line is, is that you know you more than anyone else! You labeled yourself an Alcoholic. That leads me to believe that you struggle w/ it at times. I just want you to know that drinking is our demise!!! Unless of course you can have just one and call it a day. Makes us sicker!!! Emotionally & Physically!!!
If you'd ever like to chat about it I would be there in a heart beat!!!
Take Care! Gina :)
I just plain don't drink alcohol anymore.
But YES to gmp's post about medical marijuana. Please try it for your MS if you haven't already! I have such bad pain and cannot even sit up/walk without mine so...I'm an advocate as well!
The stigma comes from the 30s/50s when it was used as a racial weapon (i.e. only "blacks" or "mexicans" smoke so they're bad and its bad too!)
This ignorant thinking is clearly WAY outdated and I think if more people knew thats WHERE the stigma comes from, they'd be less likely (if at all) to support it!
Also, money. I mean you can grow pot anywhere but you cant make your own prescription pills...and there's HUGE money in all those pills...
It's me, SharonMom. I think that you are worrying far too much about alcohol. Didn't you get the 411 that all of us in this group are doomed because we have an incurable disease? So go out and enjoy you cocktails! And while you're at it enjoy a cigarette or two too!
