I know we all get fed up with the curve balls ms throws but I am so fed up this weekend.
Had the urodynamics tests this week - post of grumpy bladder. Well today it wont go unless I use pressure/strain & I was told not to.
Yesterday I was tired quickly & my left eye was painful & closing & this is my good eye. My skin is red from a different bacteria infection but this seems to be throwing the ms into overdrive.
Last night we were sitting watching tv & my back spasmed & literally threw me forward with my back straight & really hurt. This happened several times & I have never had that or anything like it before.
I woke up early hours this morning & my left leg had been smasming, then it went totally dead & I couldnt move it at all. left arm did the same though I could move fingers & toes so that threw me. I tried to move into a different position & that was nearly impossible. My left eye would only open a crack & I couldnt focus with right eye. Mouth was clenched shut with shooting pains in the jaw. I couldnt wake hubby, I couldnt call or move & boy was I scared.
I have had where one side is dead but both legs went dead to movement.
I laid there for what seemed like ages before I could move & then hubby woke up when I got out of bed. I went into the kitchen & had a pain killer (tramadol) & antihistamine to try to help. I was struggling to walk with the walker & got back to bed. I still couldnt get to sleep & the pain did not ease.
I think I dosed off for a short while & then the same thing happened again. This time it was my total body, the left side of my face was numb including my ear. My hubby was only lightly asleep so realised thee was something wrong & tried to get me to talk but I couldnt open my mouth. He helped me get up & walk to get the legs moving & then I had an endone/morphine tablet & went back to bed. I was itchy all over as well so he gave me a back rub & I dosed off.
I slept in this morning. Left leg is dragging, foot keeps spasming & jumping everywhere, left arm is aching, eyes are both hurting. The back is so sore keep moving to try to sit comfortable & that is not working.
Add to this bladder & bowel issues (diverticular disease) & I am so over it.
Living on pain killers & I know thats not good & very thirsty but not much happening other end.
So much for getting some tidy up done over Easter & visiting David's mum, not happening as I am too tired & the sun actually hurts my skin. Must be to do with the infection I am guessing.
Thanks for reading. Just needed to vent.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I hope you're able to have a Happy Easter... Don't forget to take note so you can share all this with the doc when you see him or her too.
Hugs,
~Lorrie
Sory all this is happening...it just sounds like a really bad time.
Are you scheduled to see your doc soon? I think I would. The clenching in the jaw and the face stuff, that is something I would mention right off.
Definitely MS going on, but as we all know, don't ignore what else could be there.
Infections can cause havoc, but I say better checked than unchecked havoc. Try to have a good day, relax, and hope you feel better.
I cant take aspirin as it means that I bleed too much. I am taking tramadol for pain as well as my usual meds. I have just finished a course of antibiotics for the foliculitis - skin bacteria disease that has caused face to be red & swollen & rash on neck etc. It has calmed that down & at least I can see out of my left eye (which is my good one & was closing & blurred).
I am going tot he gp tomorrow as if I went today it would not be bulk billed & would have cost about $60 I think. Usually I dont pay so will leave it till tomorrow.
Back has calmed down but is quite sore today, I dont usually have back pain. Abdo is also very painful & left side is still very weak to say the least.
Went to the shops today & was only out for about 30mins but still lost control of both bladder & bowel so not impressed at all.
Thanks again.
Well I didnt get up on time this morning for physio as felt a bit sick/squemish. Went to gp & she said probably infection has caused a mild flare up but in different way. Said could do oral prednisolone if it continued but would prefer to leave it till I see the neuro in June (I think). Also due for another mri late April of head so will see what that shows.
I usually try to go with the flow & keep pushing through but this time it has seemed to get to me with the ms flaring in new ways. Spine feels like it is burning a lot of the time & good leg (right side) has decided to join in with pain etc. I am very tired a lot of the time & was asleep in my chair by 8.30 last night which is unusual for me. Skin is prickly so dont know if thats more excema or the ms prickles.
As I said too many things all at once, ms, diverticular pain, excema, allergies (blocked nose & coughing), asthma etc. It just seems to keep getting more.
Going to rest & watch "babe" dvd, always a nice one to watch.
Take care of yourselves.
Pain in the abdo is getting worse & fatigue is kicking in big time.
Slept on the train on the way home & wasnt even worried when it took extra time due to delay. Only problem with that is that of course Bladder didnt want to wait. Thank goodness for the incontinence supplies.
I am going to try to get to physio in the morning, even if I only get tehre for coffee LOL. The social aspect is always good.
It sounds like maybe you are feeling a little better? I hope so.
