I somewhat joined this group for the same reason. I'm 29yr old (dx 2000) and I too lost my job couple of yrs ago. I have lost many friends/relationships because they thought I was making everything up (prior to dx) or because they told me it was just too hard for them to deal with (after dx). In fact, someone that I considered a close friend, told people that I had died back when I was dx. And I thoght she just wasn't receiving my voicemails ;)

its a pain..I don't go out anymore..most of my friends are supportive but I wouldn't doubt it if they thought I wasfakin it..sure I quit my job just cuz I felt like it..life's a bit of a drag now

Yeah, I understand that. I had my 1st MS related seizure almost 3 months ago while I was driving. Totalled my car and was kept in the hospital for 3 days afterwards. Fun stuff, I tell ya ;)

wow seizure?! get out I never had a seizure b4..that must of sucked I hope ur feeling. better..I've just have pain in my legs wit numbness that its hard to walk at times...hey we surviving that's what matters

I was dxed when I was 25....I am now 34 and still doing pretty good. I have some rough spells, but for the most part good.

I am sorry you had to quit, maybe there is something else you would feel more like doing? I know I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom for 10 years, I could never hold a job now. I have too much pain. plus keeping up with a 21 month old and 9 year old is enough work!!!

Are you taking anything for the pain??

hey! I found a job where I can work from home so I'm hoping it will b better for me..I take percocets for the leg pain..sometimes it works sometimes I have to take a few more than described just to tolerate it...it sux cuz i don't want to spend all day on pain killers..

I'm kind of close, I'm 23, and have had MS for just over a year (literally, my first symptom landed me in the hospital and lead to being diagnosed within a week).

MS sucks, but you're definitely not alone in having an incurable disease and being young

I am glad you found A job from home that should be really good. Pain pills are not fun to have to take, but if its bad then you need something to help.... Tramadol works pretty good.

hey I was diagnosed at 20..years went by with little to no symptoms but after years passed they got worse..it Def sux cuz I want to be able to do more! run! running I haven't done in a long time..

I remember being numb in my right hand in my late teens to early twenties. Thought it was circulation. My first scary symptom was at 30. In one way, you are fortunate they have caught this early. It may help slow the progression and many new therapy's are around. Not that that takes away from how it sucks! I am sorry you are frustrated.

I'm your age (26) but at a little bit of a different place (just diagnosed with just enough residual vision loss in one eye from ON to be annoying). I completely understand you, about wanting to know people our age with this stuff. I guess that I still just am not ready to face the possibility that what's just annoying now might turn into disability later and not even that far away later.

Hello! I just joined the site. I just got diagnosed a couple weeks ago with ms. It caught my attention because I could not see out of my left eye; so I went see an eye doctor who ordered an MRI that showed lesions and then I started seeing my neurologist. He is starting me on copaxone. I haven't begun yet. Has anyone used the medication yet?

hey rican... i'm in my late 20's and have been ill for over a decade. the doctors test me for everything but ms, then finally get this look on their faces and say, hmmm, "this looks like ms" then they promptly call me a hypochondriac and/or tell me to wait until i get sicker. i get frustrated. every symptom i have aligns (i've been out of work for a year with balance, vision, and walking problems not to mention the pain, numbness and muscle spasms)... every time i get sick it's more severe and lasts longer than the time before. i am heading to the local ms center soon so that's hopeful.

i always fancied myself a pretty feminine person and it's hard living with a disabled parent (who is old enough to be my grandparent) who functions better than i do.

i think being ill is enough of a burden, but recently i began to think: so no kids or husband, right? who will want a cripple even if she does have a pretty face? that's when i head to see my cats who love me regardless....

I'm new to the site n I'm glad people are responding!..I'm so glad to hear that the young generation is here forsupport..as far as newly Dx it sux but don't b in denial I was for years until I had a crappy relapse that brought me back to reality. knowledge is power the more u know bout it the easier it is to understand how we manage our lives..as I think of it my first symptom a year b4 I was diagnosed was optic neuritis..go figure
