kind of off topic, but just asking for thoughts, i don't like or join any groups on facebook because i'm worried that a potential employer might look at my facebook profile, and the fact that i have ms would prevent me from getting a job. i feel like i miss out by not liking things, like the national ms society's page puts out good articles, etc. is it a thought process that makes sense, or am i just being paranoid?
No, not paranoid!! With the lack of privacy online ,we have to be very careful and protect ourselves. I know some people that have a FB account for everyone to see and an anonymous one. You can also just look at the pages, but don't hit like or comment, just read. That's how you can "hide" what you are looking at.

I like to keep my facebook for things I enjoy and for sharing things with family and close friends. I'm a pretty private person (you almost have to be in a small town like I live in or everyone would always be in your business) and I never got in to the adding friends that I'm not actually friends with in real life. Seriously... who actually has 600+ friends? lol
Anyway... I didn't mean to rant.. but you can make your profile private and avoid the potential furture issues with employers.
