Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I hope this isn't tmi but when I do go, it is normal and there is plenty. But that last little bit is like an inch or two long. I think I just don't have good communication with that last section or something
Knowing that your symptoms are 'normal' is not much consolation!
I have tried pelvic floor exercises; herbal laxatives, and recently Benefibre which you can add to any drink and adds fibre to your diet. Every thing helped a little.
I have also discovered that strengthening my core muscles through exercise has helped.
Fresh fruit and plenty of water also seems to help.
The good news is that , for me, the problem seems to be easing.
I never thought I would be excited about having a poop!
on another note I started adding dates to my diet. 2 days per day were more effective than colace with senna. My poop is softer, easier to pass, and I rarely have to go get it. That is not to say never, because I still do need to double check sometimes, but its dramatically better.
Make sure to double scrub your hands afterwards. Using wet wipes can also be soothing on a sore bum. You will feel cleaner and less raw as if poop was left behind.
Giving your self time to sit on the toilet and allow your body to work naturally can help, but sometimes ya just have to end this circus show and get on with your day.
Hang in there.
I don't know if anyone else has this problem but through the years I have to increase my fiber intake more and more.
Oh and I also found eating a lot of broccoli and grapes does the trick.
When you increase your fiber does anyone have uncontrollable gas???

BTW, I don't find Miralax or Metamucil to help me. It just makes my bowels too hard to pass. It can be used, I hear, for those with loose bowels because it can make things hard. But it works different for everyone. Just not for me.
