Hello Everyone,
I was diagnosed with MS last Tuesday and I'm trying to learn something about it and where my path may be heading.
I'm a 53 year old widower who lives in central Idaho. I have worked in heavy construction as a surveyor for the last 25+ years and I'm not sure that I will be able to continue to do that kind of work anymore. There are a lot of things I'm unsure of.
What I'm most concerned with now is the cost of the medication. The neurologist office gave me some drug treatment info and I've been thinking about Copaxone. I called and asked about the cost and can't see any way I can pay $2,500-$3,000/ mo. for shots the rest of my life.
I just finished some IV steroids last night and will be taking steroid pills for the next twenty days.
In April my right leg and right arm quit on me for a week or so. Now my right arm works well, but my right leg is still weak. I'm able to walk on flat ground pretty good but steep slopes are challenging.
I am looking for info about SSDI and possible financial aid for the drug treatments.
I'm thankful this site is here and would appreciate any information.

What a wealth of information you have given me.
It is comforting to know there is somewhere to go for information and to learn from other peoples experience.
I can see that my life has changed and I will need to pay attention and make adjustments. I guess the only thing constant in life is change.

My goal is to stay in remission with as few drugs as possible, (10yrs now for me), & feel good as well. Have been writing details about what I've been doing on my website, because it works. The way I do it, drug cost is below $20.00 (liquid method). Several key supplements are involved as well as a carefull diet & exercise.
