Either scenario would be tragic, but I would much rather hear about a bully being killed in cold blood by their victim, than to hear about this.

And this bs about the assailant getting off of charges on the grounds that he can't be identified?? Uhm...He was arrested and charged for the original incident. He was served a restraining order. I'm pretty sure that means they know his identity. He was obviously already testified against. Is there some loophole in common sense that I'm not seeing?..

I am saddened to hear this story.
My daughter is training to be a school bus driver; her first session was about bullying. Our nephew quit school in 8th grade due to bullying.So many prolems and so much suffering today. We are all affected by it and don't seem to be able to control it.

As soon as I read this I just wanted to cry. I think this new genaration is just awful! My oldest son has been bullied many times at school and he has such a sweet spirit! I just think that once a kid bullies someone they should be kicked out of school instead of the kids that are being bullied having to find other means of an education. They talked about this on TV the other day, and they told parents of the kids that are being bullied that they should home school their kids, which when mine gets to middle school I have thought about doing this. But why should the kids that are being bullied have to go, why don't they send the mean kids packing, and let their parents deal with them!?

As for internet and texting, I have not given my son access to cell phones and emails or social networks just for this reason. I know that the mean kids pick out the nice shy and kind hearted kids to pick on and bully, and there is no way to stop it from happening through these means, except through the parents of the ones that are the bullies.(good luck on that one)

My heart breaks for this boy and all the others that have to deal with this problem. No childs life should ever have to end this way!

IMO, this story isn't about bullying. It's about criminals of hate. Hate crimes are ugly. I am disabled and I have seen it for myself but nowhere as bad as this boy. May he RIP.

this story makes me sick and sad..this poor child's spirit was broken..I think that is the most horrible thing you can to do another human being.I will be praying for the family..and the offender "gets off"? well,God knows all.

I don't like any type of being made fun of and Freddy is right, we are at a disadvantage so that I become very sensitive to people to are mistreated because I have been mistreated.

Hit the nail right on the head Freddie! This should be considered a " Hate Crime" And maybe if parents of these bullies are also held responsible..people may sit up and take notice..maybe.
