Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. I'm not sure how well I'd cope if i were in a similar situation. It sounds kinda daunting to me. I'm sure a lot of members here have evolved strategies to make it work. Does being co-conscious help at such times?
Thanks for the support!!
talking may seem irrelevant at times, but it's one way that we can learn about and from others, often a good thing. Does no-one really believe you, or do your truths sometimes make them feel uncomfortable perhaps? Or is it something else? Which ever it is, I think it's good that you logged on to participate today.
and yeah, I know, sorry - a member here from time to time is amused with my need to label things, but it's how my mind functions, how i try to understand the world. :)
For example if we don't think about it before we switch they often don't happen. I think we could all try walking at the same time as i can feel us walking when April walks and when the dog pulls on rhe leash but its a little different than when she suddenly jumps into the back ground and i have to conciously take over. I guess i would describle it like auto pilot or cruise control on a car you feel the ride and see the speedometer but if you need to slow the car down and it suddenly excellerates like when going up a hill there is a mpment of panic and it takes a second to get oriented enough to hit the brake pedal is that what your asking ?. How it feels for us ? That's not an exact description but there aren't ready made words to describe it exactly.
Update,
April just took the dog for a walk and I tried co-walking with her it didn't really work. all I could do is either walk or feel her walk I did notice she walks differently her gait is faster and more clipped and I have noticed when Summer walks she tends to skip and jump around and likes to try and spin full circles on our heel lol.ok now I'm just blabbing . It's nice to be able to talk about this stuff sorry we are always trying so hard to act normal it feels nice to be free to be able to just blab lol.
Love Bee April Summer and C.. and Elizabeth we want you with us too !
