No my conclusions about prostitution as well as all of the resources I quoted are based in empercial data from studies and also therapists who have worked with sexual abuse survivors. My view is the same as all of their views that any form of prostitution is psychologically detrimental.Sexual objectification is also detrimental to a persons mental well being. For example here's an article about a study done that says objectifying a women actually affects her cognitive abilities.

Mamoth: You can't call something "sexually perverse" without imposing your morality on someone else. That is my point, it is whatever you make of it. Some people find S&M to be "sexually perverse" and "demeaning", some people think "anything aside from missionary" is wrong. There's nothing unhealthy about having sex with someone you don't love. What's wrong with rape is you're stealing a person's body, not the lack of love. It's a consent issue. (I never said there wasn't something wrong with rape.) Rape, bestiality, necrophilia, and child molestation, are situations where consent is not given and that is what makes them wrong.

My issue with this is that it's disrespectful and inconsiderate to claim that rape and prostitution are anywhere near equal. It's discriminatory to claim that the men who pay for prostitutes are only involved as some kind of power play because they're predators. And let's not ignore the existence of male prostitutes or of female domination. It makes no sense to claim that men only go to prostitutes to dominate women when some go to them *specifically* to be dominated and humiliated.

I think debate in DS main fora about sociopolitical and moral topics really ought to be avoided.
