Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
In my experience, when a part stops talking I feel like what had or wanted to be said has and I don't worry about it. If they want to start talking again that is just fine with me. I wouldn't suggest focusing on ways to get them to talk because manipulation, even in situations that aren't abusive, can be perceived by an alter (or part) as connected to the abuse. I allow them all to have their free agency so if they want to stay silent I simply respect that they have their reasons.
Hope this helps.
So it could be that someone is blocking communication, because they feel threatened by the mapping. Or it could be something totally different. You might have to be a "part whisperer" to gain the trust needed to find out what is going on.
Although it sometimes comes out in confusing ways, I am learning that I can "trust the wisdom of the group." I am just a part of it, so I am not always in control, and have to let go and be patient.

I think I may have figured it out a little bit, but I don't know for sure because the one that seemed most upset still isn't talking. But I do have a little one here with me a lot since the mapping so that is good.
I think I should have asked their permission before my T and I wrote everything in map form. I think writing it down is different from talking about them and I think that is where I made my mistake. The one that is now quiet used to like being spoken about and would be upset if I didn't say something so I just assumed she wouldn't have a problem with mapping.
Is there anything else I can do for them? I am trying to involve them more in the process. Asking the little one if she wants to help pick out colors, asking who wants to be included. I have apologized a lot, tried to listen for them, nothing. I'm just wondering if I am still doing something wrong and how that can be fixed.
I guess I'm just having trouble with not being in control of what is going on or even knowing what is going on.
