Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
Regarding the meds -- try eating fever Few leaves - especially the darker green leafs at the top -- great to relieve migrianes, headaches, or muscle spasms and its free once you start growing it -- If you eat too much, you gag and throw-up -- Mankind takes nature and puts it in a pill -- us humans can OD on pills. -- watch yourself - I had a stoke 2 years ago, taking my usual meds mixed with booze - bad choice. -- Be careful
Read other entries on recognized your alters. Lots of them -- all help you to understand what it's like being a Multiple -- my higher self -- is a wise old woman - she knows the old ways and believes the earth is my friend and I must respect her...
My Christian believes in the Christian faith -- each DID / MPD is different. So you need a T to walk you thru this.
One of the DSM diagnosis markers states direclty that changes experienced in personality are NOT the result of medication.
Of course you will feel differently if you are taking too much of a medication (you could feel differently even as the result of a correct dosage) because drugs alter our systems. DID changes are experienced in separate from chemical changes.
Here's a quote from the DSM: "the diagnosis requires that at least two personalities routinely take control of the individual's behavior with an associated memory loss that goes beyond normal forgetfulness; in addition, SYMPTOMS CANNOT BE THE TEMPORARY EFFECTS FROM DRUG USE OR A GENERAL MEDICAL CONDITION" also, this would inlcude if there were some sort of induced mania that was making you feel so good in these situations; t hat would fall under medical condition--something along manic-depressive linesj.
Finally, it is extremely dangerous to be taking you medications in ways YOU find to do them rather than following the prescribed dosages and timing. there's a reason one needs a medical liscense to administer them.
for your own safety, don't go altering your meds to try to "find" this one. it's no different than chasing an ellusive high--if it's a personality, self talk, good therapy, a journal left for them to write in, etc. are all good ways to get in touch.

sorry if i disagree. but it COULD be your ISH.
indeed normally they should not emerge after taking drugs.
but there can be reasons for that.
i doubt it is a new alter. if (s)he is really the ISH, then it is the one who steers everything. the ultimate control-freak. the only one who should have been there all along.
i am saying this because i recognize focusing, thinking clearly, and the "high-functioning".
with me my ISH is also a very wise old woman who is at peace with mother nature. she always has good advise and she can comfort me as if she were my mother -like a mother should be i mean.
but indeed ultimately you should discuss it with your therapist.
sorry if this post seems stupid, and i should mind my own business, but i hope it is of use to you.
((hugs))
I am not an expert, just someone who has experienced the same thing, from watching it happen.
I have 3 of my own. One only come out when I work out really hard. The other is my childish raging self. He comes out to "play" with my GF's raging alcoholic personality.
