welcome to the group. Sway is right, not many people understand or believe in DID. What's even more distressing is that some therapists apparently do not believe in it. And worst of all, many people seem to form their opinions based on what they've seen in shit movies that can sensationalise aspects primarily for shock value. Out of your alters/selves is there one who is stronger/a protector? Don’t feel bad if you have to lean on them, sometimes life is hard and you can’t go at it alone.
It is sometimes really scary with this condition. n sometimes fun. Sometimes I feel strong and sometimes a little kitten
!maybe that is true of everyone even without DID
I am not on disability and work, bout only part time. And I don't have a therapist.
I used to work full time and have a therapist.
Just saying all this to say, you can be or do whatever you need, there is no one sure thing.
It is scary and nervously and overwhelming. But also glorious and amazing and fascinating.
So, I hope you are OK, try to be brave, and find all the best things about yourself and the good things in life. And then eat some licorice or ice cream
