Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. I'll use Left / Right as an example. I think of this as dyslexia but i don't know if it really is?
For instance, if I'm navigating during a car ride I'll say "Turn Left here" but my finger will point Right. As the driver approaches the intersection and starts to turn Left I'll be yelling "No! No! Left!! Turn Left!!!" and all the while my finger will be frantically pointing Right. Thing is - my unconscious nonverbal hand will be correct but my more conscious verbal mouth will be getting it wrong. And this has been the way it's mostly been for 40 plus decades. Not all of the time but perhaps 85% of the time.
Just cause, like, yoiu said you've had this for like, 40 decades, which is kind of a lot.
But yeah, that seems dyslexic-y to me. Wonder what that is called. I have that, but not if i!m telling people, usually only if they are telling me I do it opposite.
Poor taxi driver is like, who IS this guy!?
Howdoes it work prone,supine ways?
I've gotta learn to not confess such things, it's not a good look. And wooden stakes are plentiful in my world :/
and yep, like you I often do the opposite direction to the one I'm told -
damn it can get embarrassing
as for how supine / prone works, One is lying face up and the other is the opposite, But I've long given up trying to remember which is which
But THANK YOU!!! I never actually recognized that before now.
Now maybe I can find tools for those that feel powerless and help them find ways to manage, ike you were saying. I just never recognized thee frustration as possibly belonging to anyone in particular.
Bless you!
