Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
As for ways you can help open lines of communication, writing things down and like 6in1harely4fun said, talking to yourself can work wonders.
It also sounds like you're having a bad time, feeling like you can't talk to people without being a burden, and I just want to say it'll be alright, and if anyone treats you like a burden then they have no clue how awesome your mind is. I mean seriously, sometimes it may suck to not be "normal", but your brain is so powerful that it's given you a coping mechanism of making whole new ways of thinking!
It's gonna be tough, no question about that, and you might have to face things that just suck, but in the end, you'll have learned things that might just help you in ways other people don't understand. Just have faith that even if it takes a little time, the steps you take now will make the next step so much easier. You're doing a great job! :)
Thank you once moreā„
welcome to the group. Like Reason, I'm not multiple myself. I found my way to this group because I wanted to better understand two of my friends who are. From my friends i agree with 6in1harely4fun, all of your Alters are with you because they had in the past or still have a purpose that you all needed them for. If you aren't aware of that purpose you might not understand their behaviours. I've come to believe that all Alters deserve to be acknowledged and validated, i think this tends to foster co-operation and help day to day living. I'm sure you'll find support here from members to help all of you

How are u doing on things?
I have a journal that none of !my alters write in, so I've been trying to develop something else, like a binder of fun stuff. Coloring books for littles to color in, cards, something so they might learn to trust me.
I have felt lately like I've lost a lot of memory function too...I used to be in theatre and could memorize yards of dialogue, now I can barely remember what day it is.
I kind of think its just your system.s way of filtering and trying to get us to focus oin the most important things at hand, like being healthy.
But that's just me...
