OK. This group is really challenging me. Its weird how supported I feel, just from coming on and reading others posts and talking back and forth. Its weird to me how much I have been challenged to start really looking at my self/ves instead of doing "the great smoosh" which is what I usually do, smoosh everybody down.
I am trying to re.negotiate job descriptions in my team for safety issues, but wanted to bring this up.
I have distress coming out of things, shifting personalities even in front of my sister who has been dealing with my alters for years.
One reason is because my various people have gotten !me into sticky and dangerous situations before.
But one has been because of religion. Sorry if this post upsets anyone but it has been my experience so it is just one person.s issue.
I have had *multiple* situations that have made me view "coming out" or "shifting", or " switching" as demonic.
So when I have tried to come out sometimes, or talk about what my experience is, people have believed me to be demon possessed and have like prayed over me and tried to cast out those offensive "spirits" which has probably caused great distress to the people inside.
So I guess maybe a system got set up to force them all to be silent and when they try to show up I feel all this physical pain.
I don't know, I THINK that's what might be going on; people are scared they are gunna be cast into the abyss or be roasted over flames just for existing.
All of that to say, I guess I'm hoping to get back the little voices, if that is what it is to be co.present. Do you hear each others thoughts, or you're own multiple thoughts or whatever when you are co.pres?
Or maybe co.con, since that makes it sound geeky cool
Long ago there was a member here who pretended to be Multiple but wasn't. It took a while but he eventually linked to a Christian website that did exorcisms for a number of reasons including DID. They posted a video of an exorcism, and it was one of the most brutal, heart wrenching things I've ever seen.
aah KittyT, I'm so sorry you've had to put with that exorcism crap. I'm not surprised some of your others could have been so terrified and brutalised that they decided to go deep and not be found? Is there any way you could perhaps coax them back out. And have you cut all ties with those people that sought to inflict it upon you?
I'm sorry that happened to you. I feel like there is even evidence of DID in the bible....a girl with "7 demons" that were "cast out" of her.
Its especially hard when it is someone you otherwise trust and respect, because then a line is drawn, and yoiu know there is a limit place CED on your relationship. I never like that boundary...
I am so sorry this has happened to you! This makes me very angry! Certain churches really mess up theology and have others mislead also. The first thing I'd like to inform you about is the miracles that Jesus did and the spiritual gifts that the apostles did was only for that time period in the Bible before Jesus was crucified. These gifts are not for us in todays time. It's not something that we as saved believers have the power to do any more! That is twisted theology! We can pray for those who are in need, but ultimately it's God who does the work. You have been misinformed about true christianity. They are trying to cast out your personalities and your personalities are freaking out. It's no wonder they want to hide. I know because I went through the same thing. Let me guess...these believers are Pentecostal ...right? What they are doing is demonic it is not you! I know because I used to go to a Pentecostal church and believed all that nonsense. It was not until I really started studying the Bible that the truth was revealed to me.
You have a legitimate mental illness developed by traumas in your life. Our brains are intelligent enough to protect us by separating the function in our brains to keep us alive. God created us that way. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ then there is no way you can have a demon in you, because you have the Holy Spirit in you.. The light casts out all darkness. You can be oppressed by demons, but they cannot posses you!
I'm sorry I went on a rant, but I am very passionate about getting the truth out about true Christianity.
So, the next time someone tries to pray over you and try to cast out demons say, "No thank you this is in God's hands."
You are a beautiful creation of God! Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise!
