Got back from the onc, says it is fine to stop the Velcade as most people can't handle the side effects anyway. Will continue with the Dex and Rev for now. Upped the Dex for now from 40mg on Fridays, to 4mg every day and then 40mg on Fridays and Rev is 5mg everyday for 21 days and off 7 days.
Do feel better but still have some crazy side effects still going on from the Velcade, hope for these to calm down now that it has been stopped.

it takes your body awhile to adjust to all these new things..never fail to tell the dr about anything new you may be experinceing... they usually have something that will counteract any side effects

well I'm back with somemore news, still discussing the kyphoplasty since the last two hospital stays. Bent over last Friday to pick something up and more pain this time above the beltline. Saw my onc on Monday and had xrays on Tues. The radiation doctor at our hospital called me today to inform me that my xray showed a crushed vertebre and they want me to start radiation again on Monday. They have me on Oxycontin 40mg every 12 hours time released and Oxycodone 10mg every 4 hours, some relief but not much. Want to get hold of my onc and see about the surgery, right now I am told no sitting, standing or walking, get in bed and stay there. I am getting very weak as far as when I have to get up I can barely walk with 2 canes and a walker. I am waiting for this holiday to get over and see if I can have the kyphoplasty. May end up calling the squad and going to the hospital as I am off work until Monday, but I am alone and worried about falling and not being able to get to the phone. Nancy

Well I was admitted again for pain and had the kyphoplasty on 7/9 on my lumbar area.
I don't see where everyone says this is immediate relief, I am in just as much pain now as I was before. I came home Thursday and have been in bed ever since, its still just as hard to get around as is was before, had a real bad dizzy spell today.
Could it be it may just take longer for me or what? I was hoping after reading how many people got relief from this surgery that I would be up and around with no problems. Any sugesstions? thanks, Nancy

my husband is one that got relief from the surgery. he was sore for a week but he did not have the pain he had before the surgery. his surgery was for his vertebrae. I would give it a few more days

Ed, the doctors don't know yet, I still have to make an appt. for this week to see both of them. I don't understand why everyone else can get relief and I am getting no where with this.
I do have other fractures above all this but found out when I had this kyphoplasty that any fracture over 3 months old cannot have the kyphoplasty done on it, it must be done right away. Every time I bend over I'm in trouble for a new fracture, that's how this one happened. Actually just trying to dry off after taking a shower I bent over to dry off my legs and felt that twinge again in my low back, same area just repaired, now I'm worried I could of done another fracture. If it wasn't for my coworkers helping me with laundry and groceries and other things I don't know what I would do, because I can barely do anything. Thanks, Nancy

nancy.. are you on the zometa treatment? my husband gets the 20 minute drip of zometa to help strengthen the bones once a month

not on any meds for bones, I refuse to take any of them as to the side effect of what it can do to your mouth and jaw, I have very bad teeth anyway and only have half of my teeth now. I won't take that stuff, they have been trying to get me on something but I don't want to lose half my jaw to those meds.
I see the doctor who did the kyphoplasty on the 22nd, to get the stitches out hopefully he can give me some answers. thanks, Nancy
