I got a blister on my thumb. It never hurt. It popped and I went on with my daily life. I didn't cover it and it was healing. A week later it started swelling and I was in a great amount of pain. 4 days later I went to an After hours clinic. They gave me medicine both oral and cream. He told me cover it during the day. NO the pain was too bad. 2 days later I passed out from the pain. I went to the ER. They opened it and put my on another medicine. It started draining and my skin turned black. Still alot of pain. I finally went to my family doctor and he sent a culture out to be tested. Moderate MRSA. Over a course of 5 days he had me soak it in peroxide and every other day he would take off the dead skin. He finally referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon. He just told me to let it dry up and will see me in two weeks. That is tomarrow and it is still there. I still can't use it and it feels like it is contracting. It is still an open sore. I am not on any meds now. I can't work because I am a server. Will I always have this? Can I get some sort of disability to keep my head above water. My husband has paid for my medical and living expenses up until now, but can longer give me any money. I don't know how long to tell my work I will be off. I can't seem to get any answers anywhere. Thanks!
