New Here-My story

I was recently diagnosed with MRSA. I am a Radiation Therapist and deal with cancer patients daily so my ID doc decided to attempt decolonization protocol(Muciprocim ointment 2 times a day and Hibiclens baths for 10 days) for me( I am colonized and infected) and my family. I was given a nasal swab to start and received the news the next day from my hemotogist/oncologist and was in to see the ID doc in 2 days(I'm very lucky). I was referred for possible hidradenitis suppurativa but that was secondary to my MRSA infection. We were on the protocol for 10 days with Zyvox(after failure on Keflex and Augmentun) for myself for 10 days to coincided with it. I had 7 boils under my left armpit and 2 on my right and an stye in my right eye. 5 days after stopping the meds and nasal ointment, I had a new boil emerging under my left armpit. We are still doing the hibiclens showers. I have leukocytosis and thrombocytosis of unknown origin for about 7 years and low immunoglobulin G so I am considered immunocompromised. I went back to the ID doc and started Bactrim DS. 4 days into Bactrim DS treament I got a new boil that is now as big as a golf ball and a pea sized one that is just waiting to pounce. Now I will be starting another round of Zyvox for 14 days in a couple of days-the pharmacy has to order it because of the cost they don't keep it on hand. My ID doc told me that the hope was to reduce the MRSA levels but I would probably always battle this disease. One option is IV immunoglobulin but that only boosts the immune system for a few weeks. Plus there are considerable side effects. I am blessed that this is not in my bloodstream or lungs and I hope that never happens...but only time will tell. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to my new MRSA family. If anybody needs to talk or vent just let me know. Oh...the ID doc gave me a card for Zyvox and I paid $35 for my prescription with insurance and it is worth up to $300 to someone that is not insured...so maybe the drug reps can get others some of these cards? It's worth asking about.

My insurance won't cover zyvox unless I'm in the hospital. And I've developed a resistance to most of the other antibiotics and I'm allergic to vactamyacin. Sure I didn't spell that right. Out of all my medical isues, my MRSA gives me the most problems. My chronic back pain is predictable regardless of how I am feeling, but stress triggers these boils and they get huge in a matter of hours. I can have no boils when I take a shower in the morning, and then have one by lunch time that a doc need to look at before the afternoon is over. I'm very lucky there, my doc is part of the burn/wound clinic and they are open 7 days a week fro 9-5 and you don't need an appointment.

I drink the pHenominal water...and feel get now. I think I am healed., inside and out. I do know I do not live in fear of getting MRSA again.

And I have had 2 serious bouts of it. But no more. I drink the alkaline pHenominal water and feel great. I started it out of desperation.

I drank pHenomnal water and it did NOT cure my CA-MRSA. I used to as directed for several months, if not longer. It is a SCAM. Be cautious with bogus posts on here to make money off your suffering. Stay safe.

Never heard of pHenominal water, but treatments might have changed since I had my last outbreak of mrsa. I went through 4 bouts of it in a 12 week period about 6 or 7 years ago. There is always a fear with me that it will come, especially since I have eczema. I treat any open wound I get from scratching.

Unfortunately, once you acquire MRSA, you are highly susceptible to future outbreaks, compared to someone who has never been MRSA symptomatic. About 30% of the US population are MRSA carriers, but never experience MRSA outbreaks. The last statistic I read concerning the percentage of Americans that are MRSA symptomatic was only 1%. We are the 1% ers, not a great feeling at all.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
