MRSA Support Group
Staph infections are infections caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus. They include skin infections, pneumonia, blood poisoning, toxic shock syndrome, and food poisoning. Infection can happen through contact, especially if you have open wounds. Most infections are treatable with antibiotics. If you have been infected with staph, join the group for support and advice.
i have also tested neg for mrsa now for 6 months but i have very similar "skin afflictions" mostly on my back and forhead but as you say they seem to come and go on their own, i also panic everytime and rush off to have them tested. So far i have been neg evrytime! hope it stays that way!!!
I also got skin bumps/blisters after testing negative including being officially decolonized (naturally, no ABx). But I do not get anything anymore and I can tell you how I got over that last "hump". Diet and lifestyle changes that took real long-term work but have been worth it. We are still in the process of making those changes and I guess it will be a lifelong learning experience!
GG, please see this website and reveiw their legal-illegal list, for you but especially for your daughter (re: autism).
http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/
This has helped more autistic kids than anything else!
This will help you as well. Also, please see this website regarding candida/yeast:
http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/candida/index.php
I know you may be aware of this but I will reiterate:
MRSA/yeast/allergies are LINKED and all symptoms of a problematic diet and external toxins (antibiotics, cosmetic, environmential). Diet is the main issue and the one you can control the most since you cannot undo the past. I can give you specific examples of what to replace in your diet immediately. If any of you are intereseted, let me know. I don't want to spend 2 hours writing it down unless you guys truly care to make the changes. THIS IS DONE ONLY THROUGH FOOD with the exception of cod liver oil (which is still a food, actually, and available at www.greenpasture.org). Probiotics are a good idea as well but not you heal and you can make it for free! NO SUPPLEMENTS.
Look into: www.westonaprice.org (traditional eating)
or www.canteatit.net (a good elimination diet to get started is a fabulous idea). THERE IS A WESTON A PRICE GROUP IN BRUNSWICK. THERE IS ALSO A NJ STATE GROUP AND A MERCER COUNTY GROUP (search yahoo groups: New Jersey Weston A Price). FYI, my dad lives in Little Falls... do you know where that is?
I real committment will make a difference... I see it over and over and have never seen anyone that was not helped by an elimination diet and subsequent traditional eating. Not just those who suffer from MRSA but anyone. Gut issues plague nearly all of us in the USA. In a way, I should be thankful for MRSA because it was the warning sign that I needed change.
GG, you have made it this far buddy! You are a survivor and clearly a fighter. I'm sorry to see you so down and hope you will reach out to the help that is being offered. I think it is harder for men because ya'll tend to be cynical (I'm married to one of 'you'... I swear you are all like strange forest creatures).

Gut and Psychology Syndrome
forgot to add that!
You can reduce the toxic load on your body by using more natural products on your skin/hair and you can buy meat that is grass-fed, pastured and organic as well as organic veggies. It is amazing what is out there when you go looking (and I don't mean at any local store). It is available through local food co-ops, local farmers in YOUR AREA. Some of the meat purchased may be shipped in from Amish country. Just search Yahoo Groups for:
"name of your city/county"
"weston a price"
If you live in a highly populated area, you will find a group. Join it. If you cannot find a group using your city or county, then try by your state and see if anyone local has a co-op or a group of people in your area who order. A popular one in our area is Millcreek. They are a group of Amish folks from PA. We also have a Florida-based organic farm for most of our veggies. We don't eat 100% organic veggies yet but we DO eat 100% grass-fed, pastured meat and 100% pastured chicken eggs. No soy feed.
I'm very aware of Asperger's (aka Einstein Syndrome). Gut & Pshycology Syndrome to help her and your MRSA. Also, you are missing the best thing you can do for your baby by not looking at the Breaking the Viscious Cycle. Your family needs an elim. diet & a rotational diet after that with the type of food mentioned above. It is all done through food, no supplements, nothing to sell. Maybe in your cynicism you did not actually read my post above. None of those sources have anything to do with me and can be found with simple internet searches.
Hope you find a way to heal your family. I have. So have many other families with other issues besides MRSA and many of us have figured this out through our children's illnesses. Pretty simple my dear friend... and free help from your neighbors (not even me).

At the time, I didn't understand that these allergic issues were symptoms of his immune system going haywire after loss of all the beneficial bacteria that should have been in his body. All I knew was that too many antibiotics weren't good for him, whatever that implied. I did not want him to have cracked and bleeding skin for the rest of his childhood, and I didn't think cortisone cream was the answer.
What we had to do was remove all the inappropriate triggers in his environment to allow his immune system to rachet down from hyper-alert status all the time.
We had to deal with household allergens (dust mites, etc.), fragrances and chemicals in bath products, hard water, chlorine, elimination of common allergy triggers in his diet. Most of these were proteins - casein, whey, egg whites, gluten. He could not eat any dairy products, any egg products, any wheat, corn, soy, citrus, peanuts, shellfish, strawberries, chocolate, food coloring or preservatives. If he did, within an hour his skin would redden, crack and bleed. It was an enormous undertaking.
It took about four or five years for his immune system to fully recalibrate, but it did - and by the time he reached kindergarten age, he was able to eat almost all of those foods again without any skin problems. He also stopped getting frequent colds or other illnesses, so I knew his immune system was finally back to normal.
For you, gglaw, it is quite likely that you will need to do something similar to allow your immune system to get off 'high alert' all the time. Eczema and other auto-immune disorders are symptoms of the immune system out-of-whack. You will need to figure out what your triggers are, and they are probably quite extensive, as they were for our son. It may take years.
For our family, we were willing (and still are) to do whatever it took to help our son heal. As an adult, I find it harder to take that stance for myself when I have a health issue - either I am lazy or I feel like I am already old or whatever. It is just hard to see the urgency.
My son is a teenager now, however, and when I see him wavering between being a child and becoming a man, I understand that he is in a deeply vulnerable place right now, caught between two worlds, and he needs both his parents - his mom and his dad - to anchor him and guide him. I see that this will never change. It is a profound bond and obligation to be a parent. If I don't do my best to stay healthy, I will be harming the one person who is most precious to me in the world.
gglaw, don't give up on your own health, your little girl needs both you , her dad, and her mom, and always will.
