Staph infections are infections caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus. They include skin infections, pneumonia, blood poisoning, toxic shock syndrome, and food poisoning. A friend of mine who lives out of state
got sick and found out it was MRSA.
She was given Anitbiotics and sent home 2 times. Only to add to her situation a Doctor refused to treat her because of insurance.
She returned to the hospital and they put in a pic line . She has red sores on her ankles.
? what are they? she had a lump and some pain i believe on the back of one of her legs.
They did nothing they sent her home with oral medications. Now she is back in the hospital with Pain in the stomach and bleeding.
She said to pray for a miracle
what is wrong with her? ( possible another infection with MRSA too.
Why dont they tell her what is wrong with her?

i am responding like mad to each one of your threads because i am new today and have been researching the very things you are asking. it is all so confusing.

mrsa is kind of staph that is much rarer than just staph and can affect the skin, blood, heart, joints, and muscles. i have had three abcesses (which is when an area get red and spreads to infection). but the trick is you can have mrsa that is colonized (which means that it is active inside the nose at a minumum) and can be spread easier to the person with mrsa and others. the most frustrating thing is that many medical folks are divided on how contagious the person is.
i went to three dermatologists before one would biopsy the skin and give me a blood test and swab the inside of my nose to verify not only that i had mrsa but more importantly where i had it and to what extent. what type of docs are seeing her and does she have an area that is red, hard, and or spreading outwardly?
