I Located Info. On Reoccuring Jock Itch

Aparently, reoccurign jock itch is indirectly due to MRSA, in that the antibotics we utilize to combat MRSA depleats our immune system of positive bacteria,therefore, resulting in jock itch.

Taking antibiotics can also cause some people to get a fungal infection. Antibiotics get rid of germs that make us sick, but they can also kill many of the "harmless" bacteria in our body. These harmless bacteria normally fight with the fungus for a place to live, but when antibiotics kill them, the fungus is free to grow. That's why it's important to listen to your health care providers about using antibiotics.

I hope this assists those with this reoccuring problem. I recently learned that my three year old daughter has jock itch, I pray that it is not MRSA+. Jock itch is higly contageous.

Yes unfortunately the antibiotics does not pick and chose the strong ones kill all..

Thats what happened to me in the beginning..Starting with Vanco..and ending with Zyvox..It killed out what I had to fight with too..

I have had numerous yesat infection all over from them..Even internally..So its quite a problem..

I pray your 3 yr. old doesn't have MRSA also. That would be horrible bad enough the poor little thing has jock itch..

She will be in my prayers!

gglaw3: Hi, just wanted to pipe in that my granddaughter has had a yeast infection in the diaper area before. It is not uncommon. When it is the little pink bumps, it's irritating. When it becomes a raised red palate of pain, it's terribly painful for them. Thankfully, it's easily treated. I open capsules of probiotics into a spoon of yogurt or applesauce once a day, and it helps a lot, along with whichever ointment/cream your doctor recommends. Usually you can put very light doses of monistat cream in the diaper area. Some people even put little bits of yogurt on the skin to kill the yeast. If your children are ever on antibiotics, it's important for them to be given yogurt or probiotics to balance out the bacteria in the gut again. (same goes for us, every time we have antibiotics)

Thank you all for yuor feedback...my daughter is completly fine, thank the stars!!! Lotriminointment 3-4 xs a day, plus freuent diaper changes did the trick..that certaintly was not MRSA related. We dodged another healthrelated bullet, once again! I wish you all good health.
