I am trying oil of oregano that I got at whole foods. it comes in capsules, but it is a thick dark green liquid. I diluted a few drops with lavendar (it improves the sharp smell!) and a carrier oil and put it on gauze for my current boil. It does sting a bit, but so far so good: the wound is not getting bigger and badder, as usual, and seems less painful and swollen overall
I also took capsules last night and today with food, along with my usual supplements (mega-garlic, C, echinacea, etc.). Again, so far so good.
No adverse effects except, wow! this stuff can sting when used topically! Dilute it some in a carrier oil, bland lotion, Staphaseptic, water or even mix it with lavender oil. I suspect that it stains, too, as it is a deep forest green.
Huh. I used to eat spaghetti and homemade sauce (plenty of fresh garlic and a handful of oregano and basil) as a kid, five days a week and *hated it*. Who knew it was health food? Order me up some Italian food today!
Be very careful with everything you use. Just because it's a botanical doesn't mean it won't hurt you.
She may have used cooking oil of Oregano.
You're right. Gotta be careful...check everything out from every angle.
Even what the MD's say to do.
Thanks GGlaw....
I'll be adding Oregano to my food....and checking the links Whisky.
