It has been only 4 days since my D&C and it is really hitting me hard today. My husband and I have been apart since the procedure. I couldn't find my love for him. I didn't want him to touch me or hold me. Today I am realizing this and trying to change. I always said that every situation is a learning experience. I am suppose to take something from every situation. What I realized was that this is suppose to bring my husband and I closer, this is our test. This is the single most tradgic thing I ever had to go through with him but I realize we are going through it together and need each other.

I'm sorry for your loss. My D&C was also 4 days ago. Its been testing our relationship too. I wish he was there for me to lean on but he seems distant & I feel afraid to "bother him". I think opening up to him will bring you closer, it might just take some time for you to open up so don't be too hard on yourself.

Thank you. I am very lucky to have him and if there was anyone in the world I would have to go through this with it is him. I know I am lucky. Still, it is hard. We are both coming around. Today is even harder for him because it is the day his first child died from a previous marriage. He is older than me and his first child died during birth from complications. It is a heavy day for us but I realized from his grief that we need to pull it together. I read some of your posts, tjmv12, and I mentioned your problem to my husband. His reply was that most men do not know how to communicate their feelings. I am very lucky that my husband does.

Wow, that does make it extra hard. Its also that time of year that makes things even more difficult. You are lucky to have an open and sharing husband - it seems many of them are not. Thanks for asking your hubby his thoughts - men do seem like different creatures. Just wish in times of need they would get over their pride and share. I guess some don't know how.

I wouldn't let this experience be a test for you--at least not for some time. It's going to be difficult for both of you and you may see the best and worst in each other. I think after time has passed you'll be in a better position to judge whether the experience brought you close together. It's really just beginning of this process for you, and it's not good to make judgements and decisions under such stressful conditions.

You are smarter than I was...it took me months to realize this point. It is worth the emotional strain to get through it together. I stuck it out with dh and now we are inseperable. We both agree we are a stronger pair now than ever before and we would do anything for each other. It has made us great communicators and best friends. Also, it makes you capable of going through anything. Everything hard that has happened (and there has been some really tough times)since has been like-oh okay, we'll do this too, this is just fine. We hardly break a sweat anymore! Good Luck, it is not fun-I wouldn't wish this on my enemy, but your relationship will be incredible after seeing this through, (((HUGS)))
