New and distraught

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce my self.

After struggling with infertility for 3 years and finally after IVF getting pregnant, today at our 12wk scan we found out that our baby had died at 7wks

I am at the moment waiting on the doctor to call me so I can go in and see him and book in a D&C.

If the grief I am experiencing was not enough, I also have to face this procedure without really any knowledge of how it affects your body, what to expect or how the hell do I survive from day to day....

any words of encouragement and any advice would be really appreciated

hi im so sorry for you loss it is really an awful thing to have to be told at your scan. i had my scan on 23rd feb and ws told that my baby had died at 8 weeks i waited another week to have another scan but this obviously showed the same thing. i then opted to take the tablets but unfortunately these didnt work so i had d&c 15th march, it went well i didnt even bleed afterwards and a scan showed that everything was out. i have just recently gotten a positive ovulation test so i think that my body is getting itself back to normal. i know the grief is overwhelming but the best thing i found was talk talk talk i wish you all the luck in the world xxx if you ever need to talk feel free to message me xx

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. My experience, a week ago, was very different, but I did have a d&c to stop the hemmoraging. It was painless for me. The doctor said there may be some cramping and gave me some tylenol with codine. I bled for about 4 days heavily, then slightly less each day for about a week.

I still cry everyday, multiple times a day, and from the wonderful women here, I know it is ok and normal. Little things set me off, and other times nothing at all will cause me to become upset. I am far from coming to terms with the loss of my 14 week old baby, but I'm trying. I wish you lots of love and support in this difficult time.

I am SO sorry for your loss. I also had the horrible news at my 7 weeks appointment the baby died at 6 weeks. I know what you are going through and it does get easier at time but then it gets hard again. Its been over two months and im still dealing with it and I will be for a long time.

I bled for 44 days after my d and c. That isn't normal but I guess my body needed to do that. I think the average is about a week or two. I wasn't in any pain thank the Lord but I was emotionally a mess.

You WILL get through this...stay on here this website has helped me and these ladies are wonderful. Remember you will get through this...
