Menstrual Cycle after D&C

OK so I finally got my period 6 1/2 weeks after my D&C but it was barely anything! I'm usually light for my menstural cycles anyway - but this seemed even lighter then usual and only lasted 2 days! I would of thought the first period after D&C would of been heavier then usual. And I've been having some lower cramps even still after the period has basically stopped.

Is this normal? I've already emailed my doctor but waiting to hear back kills me :)

Advice please :) Oh and we are going to start trying to get pregnant again as soon as possible.

Mine was light at first. My theory is the D&C really really cleaned out the uterus so perhaps there wasn't much of a lining to "shed". I think I was about the same timeframe, my D&C was 11/15 and I got my first period 1/1 (and lucky me, again on 1/28). I have noticed my pms symptoms are worse since the m/c... I pretty much eat everything in sight for a week before hand. Used to just be the day before.

Thank you ladies :) I didn't bleed too much after D&C either, but it was more then this period that's for sure. So I won't worry or freak out and just track to see if I ovulate this month - hopefully!!! :)

Thanks for thinking of me qbfan413 - I've kind of disappeared I know, just having a hard time with things and needing to clear my mind a bit and focus on other things but this miscarriage :)

I had my D&C on April 12th and I just got my period. However, there were a couple of times when I thought I had it, but according to my doctor it was most likely Anovulatory Bleeding. Basically, irregular uterine bleeding with no ovulation. It was about 5 weeks post D&C, was very light, lasted 3 days, and was brown in color (that's what I thought was my period). 6 weeks post D&C I had one day of bleeding, light, red in color. At 7 weeks post D&C, I finally had my real period. It was extremely heavy, dark red, and lasted 7 days (my cycles usually only last 3-4 days)!!

So what you thought was your period may have been Anovulatory Bleeding. Hope this helped a litle.

I just had my first period after my d&c as well and it was so strange - so light for 6 days. I see my doctor on Monday, so I was going to ask him as well. I'll try to post his answer.

mine came 28 days after d&c, didn't last long, maybe 3-4 days but was heavy. but pjs wasn't bad, no cramps or sore boobs, which I thought was odd. been thinking about you! hope your doctor geraniol some answers!

I'm sorry, I'm not much help. I asked my RE and was told that it's not unusual to have a very irregular period after a miscarriage or d&c.
