Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. Join the group and find support in the company of others who know what you're going through.
As many of you know, we delivered our perfectly formed, beautiful baby boy Matthew at home when I was supposed to be 13 weeks pregnant. They told us he died at about 10 weeks, but he measured in real life at 11 weeks. We have been blessed to have a huge funeral for him and will be burying him at our local cemetery, Calvary Cemetery in Olympia, WA. One very exciting part of that is that the cemetery is starting a NEW section just because of Matthew...for babies lost in pregnancy!! FINALLY!!
We want Matthew's grave to be a memorial for other babies lost in pregnancy. We have some card stock hearts and some tiny glass (flat round) stones that we can use to memorialize any of your babies. We would then put those in with Matthew's tiny coffin (from www.heavensgain.com) when we bury him.
Please let me know if you would like me to make some item(s) for your baby or babies. At Matthew's funeral, many people wrote a name & date on one side of the heart and then a little note on the back, but we will put anything you would like! ... On the stones, there is really only room for initials or a date...or a little image of some kind. If you would like to mail us something (very small), I would be willing to do that, too! We had one family that brought us a TINY little onesie they had sewn for their teeny baby. So precious! Anyhow, I would also be happy to email you a picture of what I am putting in, if that is something you would like. You can message me with any private info or to see about sending us something.
I am sorry I am slow in posting this...but I will be sure to accomodate anyone and their special wishes for their babies!! I know our babies are all together in Heaven, and it would be so precious for me if Matthew was laid to rest snuggled up with memorials for the babies of my beautiful sisters here on DS!!!
