I was so excited to be pregnant again. I was actually feeling real great. Then on Friday I started bleeding real bad. Terrified I called my Dr and had some blood work done and my levels had dropped drastically there was nothing they could do. 'So today I had a d&c. The Dr said that there was damage from a severe infection I had developed after my last child. He fixed what he could but told me I may never have another full term pregnancy. I really hope that's not the case I really want more kids. Has anyone else have a problem similar and had a healthy pregnancy.

Doctors only practice medicine stay hopeful! I would get a second opinion.

Thanks ladies I am getting a second opinion Jan 19th that's the soonest I can get in with this really great Dr. I am hoping for some good news.

awe, i'm so very sorry. that's soo awful. i agree on getting a second (and third!!!!) opinion. i hope everything turns out good for you and you can have more kids.

Thanks for the support I will talk to this Dr on the 19th and if I don't like him then I will find another Dr. But I have heard alot of good things about him. Although I thought the same thing about the Dr I was seeing as they are high risk Dr BC of the other Mcs I have had.

agreed some dr's are not a good fit some are like tring to put a square peg in a round hole... even in the group i go to where there are 7 dr's.. I really like four am neutral with 2 and the last 1 would do almost anything not have as my dr. happy thoughts.

Thanks I really appreciate all of your kind thoughts. We are going to wait to see what the Dr says on the 19th before we decide if we want to try again. As long as we get good news we will try again. I'm thinking new year should be good news. Saying lots of prayers for me and all the ladies here and for all the ladies that are not here but have lost a child.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My husband and I just lost our first baby (from an ectopic) and I'm also afraid about the likeliness of my having a successful pregnancy in the future. One thing I have learned in all of this though is that the medical community are pessimists. I think they have to give you the worst case scenario and often that leaves us feeling hopeless, but I wouldn't give up if I were you. I have a friend, in her forties with endometriosis, one working ovary who is sucessfuly 6 months pregnant and another who has had 9 miscarriages and who is now about 7 months along. I let these women be an example to me as to why we should never give up hope: no matter how hopeless this all may seem and believe me, I feel pretty hopeless about 99% of the time myself.
