Got a zinger from my mother the other day. I know she is trying to help me, but she knows very little about hormones, and birth control, and getting pregnant today vs. 30 years ago. So sometimes I wish she would keep her comments to herself, because she always manages to make me feel worse.
I let her know what happened at my last drs appointment, that the doctor didn't recommend any further testing and since he still considers me "low risk", that hubby and I are just going to try again. So, she of course has to bring up my weight, which is a sore spot between us.
Yes, I am overweight. And she is stick thin and is always on my case about my weight. She basically says that I need to lose weight, because this "whole pregnancy thing shouldn't be so hard". (We had a chemical pregnancy in April and lost our baby at 9 1/2 weeks last month). Both not my fault, both just pregnancies that were not meant to be. But according to her it is my fault because I am overweight. Exactly what I needed to hear while trying to deal with this loss. She makes me so mad sometimes. I don't know how to deal with her, because arguing back is just frustrating and never gets any where. She really hurt my feelings and I don't know if/how to tell her.

I am the only person in my family that is even slightly overweight. I'm not obese just overweight, but my size 0-6 sisters and hunky brothers make me seem like the ugly duckling.
