Hi, I was on Prometrium before I miscarried. For your comfort however, my baby died around the same time I found out I was pregnant(5 weeks). I had a blighted ovum. So unfortunately, the Prometrium couldn't help my baby. It did however raise my progesterone levels. I know a lot of women who were placed on it and had continued with a healthy pregnancy. Multiple pregnancies in fact! So even though it's pretty gross! It's worth it for your baby! Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

I was put on prometrium after my first pregnancy, due to some concerns about a short luteal phase (and some spotting). I think it saved my baby - we ended up with a completely healthy little boy. I didn't do it the second time around (doctor said it didn't do any good) and I had a m/c. Can't say that's why for sure, but I'll always wonder.

I was put on prometrium after my third miscarriage. At first I was on 200mg, then they found a "bleed" and doubled my dosage. Today I am 28 weeks pregnant and the baby is doing great. I really think it helped (along with lots of prayers...).

i was put on it before i lost my son, i was bleeding at 10 weeks and then i was on for 3 weeks and then when i went off i lost my son, but i hope it works for you..

HI! I'm new here, but I took Prometrium years ago. I have PCOS and my Dr. gave it to me to help me GET my period. They made me take a test first to be sure I wasn't pregnant because it could cause miscarriage if I was.Eventually I tried Clomid and that must've worked cuz 6 mo later i was pregnant. I had been on a progesterone cream. Once I got PG the doc put me on Prometrium to strengthen the uterine lining so I wouldn't m/c.
Unfortunately, the baby died (nothing to do with the prometrium). IThe prometrium wouldn't allow the baby to m/c, so I had to go off it and when my progesterone level dropped...nature took its course and I did not need a D & C.
The prometrium did what is was supposed to do, stop me from m/c- even though I did not have my desired outcome.

After 2 m/cs, I was on the pill form of prometrium for my 3rd pregnancy. My levels were 13. I was told anything under 5 would not be considered a viable pregnancy. Over 25 is excellent. With my numbers, they weren't sure what was going on. I took it until the end of my first trimester. I am now 6 1/2 weeks away from having a girl. I believe that it has helped a considrable amount. Along with some faith in god. Good luck.

Not too sure on an outcome yet. I was just put on it two days ago. 400mg orally per day. I have had spotting since 5 weeks, but baby looks fine with a strong heartbeat now at 6w4d. They also think that I may be developing another subchorionic bleed which is how I lost my last baby at 12 weeks (that doc did not attempt to treat it an any way or follow up on the dx). MY new doc says that my prog levels are not technically low (although they fell a little this week at 24.7 from last week which was 26.1), but the Prometrium will also help my bodyabsorb and get rid of that bleed. I too am afraid of the side effects and effectiveness on my pregnancy. I do not want to lose another baby because of this!

Also, I just read somewhere that a lot of women develop low progesterone issues after years of taking the pill...not sure how accurate that is, but it makes sense. I have always wondered what it was going to do to me! I took them for 3 years after the births of my son & daughter who are 13 mo apart...I needed a break! Now I can't seem to get back on track...
