I found out yesterday that I am having my 5th miscarriage. After so many you'd think I'd know how this works but it seems like every time it's different.
My fisrt miscarriage was at 6 weeks, we never saw a heartbeat, I had a D&C. 2 years of ttc later I had my 2nd m/c termed a chemical pregnacy and my beta never got out of the 30s. My next m/c was the worst. I was 11 weeks. We saw the heartbeat 2x and then it stopped. I had another D&C. Several months later (and more IF treatments) I had another "Chemical Pregnacy". My beta started at 87 and then went down to 25. This time my beta started at 535, 4 days later (yesterday) it was 313.
Now on to my question. My RE didn't say anything about monitoring the beta down to zero. They just told me to call when my period comes. I don't know what to expect since my other "chemical" pregnancies never got up this high. Should I expect painful cramping (as with my 6 wk m/c)? I've been spotting for a week now. I'm just so ready for AF to come and get out of this stage of limbo. I feel like my doctor has just left me hanging and not telling me what to expect. Previously they had always monitored my level back down to zero. I feel almost like they are giving up on me. Like I should be a pro at this or something. It's just so devastating. No matter how early the loss it always breaks my heart. I don't know how many more losses I can take.

I've never made it to 6 weeks, so I cannot tell you what to expect. But I have had 3 very early miscarriages, each at 4-5 weeks, so I know what you are going through in that sense. And I am so sorry for what you're going through....I don't know how much more I can handle either. We can just pray that God will bless us both with healthy children.

When I MC at 10 weeks the doctor just said to call if my period didn't return after 10 weeks. It arrived around week 9. I don't remember any major cramping when it returned. If you are bleeding now that should be when the more painful cramping is. My cramping was more painful when the bleeding first started. It went away and then it was about 9 weeks before my cycle returned. I am so sorry you are going through this again. No matter how many times a loss is a loss and your doctor's office should be showing you compassion and empathize with your pain. I saw the heartbeat of our baby quite a few times and then it was gone so I know how you are feeling. I may not have known the sex but that little one was my baby. Hoping and praying that your physical and emotional road to recovery isn't too painful. XO :)
