I hope that you find the strength to enjoy this season with the rest of your family and friends. It's a hard time for sure; I'm feeling it too this year. Normally I'm done my shopping by now but don't even want to plan any festivities this year, not to mention the baby shower I'm supposed to host in a week. We will make it through this though. I'm planning on buying a little angel ornament or something to remember the child that I just lost. Maybe that will help a little. Hope that you can find some happiness this season. Take care.

I'm going through the same thing last year was gunna be the last xmas without a child - i was pregnant at the family xmas party everyones got there kids, no one knew i was pregnant and this year i was thinking that i would be showing off my lil buddle, now i'm not and the people who were showing off there kids last year have had more kids this year and i'm still without - fair???
I not going this year it just too hard to pretend that i'm happy
I might be pregnant now and it doesn't help that i missed out on the seafood last year and will miss out again this year - just lil things that remind you

I am sorry for your loss. I am not quite in the same place, but can totally sypmathize. I was to be due after the first of the year, so I wasn't supposed to have a bundle in my arms for the holidays, but I was supposed to have the big stomach. Every time I see pregnant people, it reminds me of what I don't have. and to make things even better, my SIL is pregnant and I will have to look at her belly during the holidays...and listen to her complain. I would give anything to have the problems she is having, because that would mean my little one was still with me. THe holidays were always my favorite, and I keep trying to keep my spirits up by telling myself we can try again soon. THat is pretty much what I am looking forward to. It's not much, but it's what I've got. May you have dreams of little ones in your future. Hopefully that will be our Chrismtas presents....

I'm sorry for your losses. I have had two miscarriages this year. My first due date was Dec. 7th and I was dreaming of baby's first Christmas right away. Once I became pregnant again after my first loss I thought that at least I would be pregnant and happy during the holidays and that would help with the sadness of my first loss. Here I am not pregnant and going through IF evaluations. Not at all how I imagined this holiday season would be. I have no holiday spirit this year either. I'm not at all looking forward to going to the big family dinner with all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren playing and knowing my parents are still grandchildless.

I joined the holiday card list in the infertility group and I'm hoping that will make those days a little bit brighter. If you haven't joined the list, maybe that will help you get through it as well.

I totally know what your going through. I found out I was pregnant last year a few days after my 22nd birthday that was on Dec.5th, then a few days after that I found out I was miscarring the baby. I didn't actually lose the baby til the day after Christmas. So I'm not to sure how I'm going to react on those days. 2009 was a horrible year for me all together, because of all of this. I will pray that everything goes okay for you as well as I, because I know and understand what you are going through.

My favourite day of the work year is usually the Christmas party at my work (lame I know, but I get to hang out with all my friends and have some drinks and generally relax) and as part of the day we have a costume party that everyone takes very seriously. I always make a big effort to create a costume with a couple of friends. This year when I found out I was pg, I decided to go as a Kangaroo so that I could fit my new bubby into the costume,I was planning to dress it as a joey. It probably sounds silly but it was the most exciting thought because I knew I would see all my friends and be able to show off my baby. Then in May I had a m/c. Christmas party is on this Friday. I'm not going as a kangaroo. I'm going to try to enjoy the Christmas party anyway because I'm still lucky to have my friends and family but I know there are going to be really hard moments throughout the day. Good luck to you throughout the holidays, try to focus on the good in your life that you can still be thankful for even if it's not what you'd hoped. If you are still able to try again, maybe you can be thankful for that? Know that there are others on here who understand and who are thinking of you and each other during these hard times. I'm so sorry. I am right there with you. I found out a week before Halloween last year that I was pregnant, and I lost my baby over the Thanksgiving weekend. I don't know how the holidays will make me feel... Surround yourself with loved ones and take care of yourself. We'll make it through, somehow. *hugs*

I know exactly how you feel. 2 years ago my husband and i went through a miscarriage.Than around december of last year we found out i was pregnant. The pregnancy was going fine till i gave birth to him a month early and he was stillborn. Holding our son was the hardest thing that we could have gone through.
I was unreachable for a month after it happened. All i wanted to do was curl up in a little ball and cry my eyes out. I still do that at times though.

hi i am the same we found out a month ago i was 6 weeks pregnant and on sunday night that was all taken away from me this was going to be my partners and i last christmass childless we were planeing next christmas with our baby i was counting down the day till june 28th 2010 for my baby to be here i had everything planes and now its all gone i dont know how to deal with any of this i just want my partner to leave alone is that so wrong im so hurt and angry and wish it wasent the holiday seson comeing up i dont know what to do

I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. I understand. I found out I lost my baby on October 2nd. As the holidays approach I have days where I am excited for my kids I already have but at the same time it is sad that I won't be pregnant anymore. As I put up our tree and yes our tree is up and decorated already, I looked at all the kids 1st ornaments and realized that there won't be one next year for this baby, it made me really sad. I almost took all the ornaments off and put the tree away. I didn't because of the other kids. It is hard to go through the holidays when you are mourning. I hope that you will make it through. I understand all too well. My first miscarriage happened December 21, 2007. Four days before Christmas! Celebrating was the last thing I wanted to do! Something that has helped is I purchased a beautiful angel ornament from www.littleangelsonlinestore.com and that is at the very top of the tree before any other ornament goes on. Not only does it help to make her angel date easier to deal with it also helps to get through the holiday season. I also have an angel ornament that my nephew painted for the baby and that is at the top of the tree as well. My mom gave me a white bear to put on the tree to remember the baby I lost this past Halloween so that is on the tree as well. I only offer these as suggestions simply because I know how difficult it is to try to get through the holidays when you're grieving. The best thing you can do is to not do anymore than you feel ready to do. If you don't feel like attending the annual family celebration or the company Christmas party, don't go and don't make any excuses because you don't need to. If you want to give gifts but dealing with people is too much, shop online. You will come through this. It will take time but I promise you, you will make it through and the holidays won't seem quite as overwhelming. There might always be that pang of longing but the grief and pain won't be as crushing as it is now. You're in good company here. These ladies here are my second family and you will find much support and encouragement here. Hugz and prayers, honey!
