Hi all, I had a m/c in May and I have been using the clear blue fertility monitor since my first period to help track ovulation. According to the monotor I have not ovulated. This month I decided the supplement the monitor with first response ovulation predictor tests. According to the monitor, I am not ovulating (I am on CD 17) and I toook the first response and have a DEFINATE LH surge today. I don't understand why two different tests taken relatively close in time would give me two different results. Anyone have this happen before?
PS. I called both companies and they both insist their product is right (what a surprise).

You could be coming up on your surge. I don't like the monitor personally. It never worked for me. I love the opk's they have worked wonderfully. Good luck.

I also use the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor. I actually bought it a few years ago when I was ttc with my first husband. It worked like clockwork every time. This time around I am finding that it may not be as accurate. This is my 3rd month ttc with the monitor. The first month I only used the monitor and I got the Peak reading just like I was supposed to but I did not pee on the stick but dipped it in a cup (long story behind it). Last month, I never detected a Peak reading with the monitor but I had also started taking my BBT and ovulated exactly when I should have but missed it on the monitor (but I was peeing on the sticks and not dipping them in a cup). This month, I am not to ovulation yet but I have decided to continue taking BBT and also to resume dipping my test sticks instead of peeing on them as that seems to work better for me. I am beginning to wonder if the design of the test sticks has changed because I am using the same monitor that I used before without any problem.

And since you feel like they may not be accurate, I would always use a back up. If either is testing as a surge, I would treat as one just in case. I would rather BD when I didn't need to then not BD and should have.

I use the digital smiley face OPK's along with the fertility monitor. I always get a smiley face (which is a positive) at 11:00 am the day before the fertility monitor reads peak. I am now 30 weeks pregnant so I believe that using the two together is the best thing to do. I would think that your monitor would read peak tomorrow and the day after. Good luck!!!!

In reply to conn's mommy, I am also wondering if the sticks to the monitor have changed. I actually concieved the pregnancy that I lost in May using the monitor and never had a problem with it. This time around...I am having problems with the sticks. I seem to have to pee on them longer (soory TMI) to get the fluid to move all the way up the stick. A couple of times last month, before I realized I had to pee longer, the fluid did not move all the way up the stick and the monitor still read the sticks!?
