Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. I have a necklace that my husband bought me a couple months after the loss. It was purchased from a jewelry maker in Canada...she too has experienced miscarriage. The one I have is a heart with two little footprints on the front of it.
I find that it helps me personally to wear this, particularly on difficult days. It's my way of acknowledging this little life that touched me so much. It helps me feel like he/she is with me.
When we had our second loss a couple weeks ago...I felt I needed something for that little soul. But it doesn't need to be expensive. I found myself at Target one day looking at these fabric bracelets with gems on them. Each is supposed to have a particular meaning.
The one I decided to buy (only $10) says that it stands for Courage. I feel that that is what this little soul (that we lost in April) is giving me. The courage to press on, to stay strong and to even still try to have a baby. I wear the necklace and bracelet most days. And the bracelet in particular...I feel that it gives me strength.....because I have attached meaning to it.
Usually at some point during the day I find that I sort of "consult" it :) ...take note of it and put my hands on it. And it helps to have this reminder of "strength" in the form of something tangible.
Thought I would share this in case any of you find that having something to wear can be helpful to you as well.
It need not be expensive. And it need not be something that even an outsider would understand or know that there is particular meaning attached. It's more for you.......

I haven't taken either of them off and I find that they give me strength through the day.
