Hi everyone, I was after some advice. I apologise in advance if I upset anyone and I know from experience it can be upsetting when you hear someone is pregnant.

Well my problem is

I had my 4th MC back in August and have been TTC since then. I have been taking baby aspirin pretty much since as instructed by my consultant. I have been tested for APAs but so far the results have been negative. However my mum had thrombosis in pregnancy and had to have heparin in all of her pregnancies. So as a precaution I was told to take aspirin before I got pregnant this time round.

On day 26 of my cycle this month I had a bit a brown blood, only a tiny amount, this is not normal, I did feel pregnant and thought it might be late implantation blood. So the next morning I did a pregnancy test. It was positive. Then last night (day 28) I had some more brown blood come out, like at the very end of a period, not loads, but a bit and it lasted for about an hour. I thought perhaps the test was wrong and I was about to come on, so I did another test and the line was even stronger this time. Then I got up today and its been doing it off and on all morning. Im not sure what is happening as this has never happened in any of my other pregnancies. Has this happened to anyone else? I dont want to go to the drs coz they cannot do anything and they are not very helpful and I dont want to get too stressed.

Any suggestions guys?

It sounds like old blood to me. I would say as long as your not cramping and it doesn't get red do not worry. Congrats on your preggers. If I were you I would rest more and don't get dehydrated.

It could be old blood. I had a m/c and a stillborn so I asked my OB about taking baby aspirin. She said that she wanted to wait until I had an established pregnancy because baby aspirin causes bleeding during pregnancy. If you are bleeding because of the baby aspirin then don't worry---------it is only because the aspirin thins your blood. I would call you doctor just to ease your mind though. The other thing-------implantation bleeding sometimes happens right when your expected period is due-----so maybe that's what it is.

Thanks guys - i hope thats all it is. I get so worried, everytime something happens I worry. If it is implantation blood could it be happening this late

hi em - i had bleeding with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy failures. my 2nd pregnancy was an etopic, the 3rd a blighted ovum.

i do know many women have bleeding during pregnancy and all is well. i hope this is the case for you too. i know the waiting is SO hard, especially (like me) when you have been through 4 losses and this is pregnancy #5. i would feel the same way if i ended up pregnant again.

i have heard that old blood should be less of a concern than new blood, but with my 4th pregnancy (failure) i had BRIGHT RED bleeding in the 4th week for 1 hour straight (what i thought was the beginning of my period, to only find out i was pregnant - - the bleeding completley stopped after 1hour). i never had any bleeding after that for that pregnancy, but i was also put on progesterone, which helps. we found out at week 9 (ultrasound) that baby had died (later determined was trisomy 22, girl).

has your doctor talked with you about progesterone supplements? oh, i also took 1 aspirin a day on pregnancy (failure) #4 per doctors instructions / precautions.

I had this , I agree witht he ladies, if its brown its old. However id get into ur EPAU as soon as possible get a scan and check everythings ok. I had a scan 3 days into on off brown bleeding and everything was fine. The ladies are also right in saying if it goes red then thats a different matter. The day after that u/s my bleeding turned red and unfortunately i miscarried. This however might not be the case for you. Drink water, rest and Good luck

I don't want to worry you or tell you this is happening to you, but this is my story. I spotted very lightly one day when I was 6wk prego. I called the advice nurse and they scheduled an appointment to see my OB-MD (just in case). The next morning I bled more and the blood was rusty color. That day at my Ob appointment, I bled red blood as if I was having my preiod. They did the ultra sound and could not find anything. Then in a flash I was m/c. I too did the pregnancy tests to hold on to some hope of being pregnant and the tests stated I was prego. But what the Dr told me was bad. "the tests say you are prego b/c you still have HCG levels but they are low." I had to take blood tests which confirmed the statement to then be told I m/c.. AHHH I was in so much pain.

i was always told brown blood is ok it can just b implantation bleeding or old blood from when you werent pregnant

I have had brown blood every time I've been pregnant (3 times). The last time I had it they came to the conclusion that it was a collapsing cyst. But the other women are right, as long as it's not red, doctors usually don't worry about it, it's old.

I've been pregant 4 times with three healthy children and I bled with each one of them. When I was pregnant with my son who I lost in my second trimester I had a bit of red blood because there was a rip behind the placenta. But it healed up just fine and I lost my son to something TOTOALLY DIFFERENT (nothing to do with the placenta.) Try not to worry. If you are really concerned, call your OB just to make sure.
