I clearly remember the day that I returned to work following my D & C and to be honest it was very difficult. I work in a preschool with many women. There are typically between 4-5 pregnancies among them at any given time. I had taken 1 week off following the procedure and I dreaded going back. On my first day back, one of the teachers that I consult was pregnant with twins and a fellow co-worker was passing by us as we spoke and said to me, "You're next". I looked at her in horror and it took everything in me not to cry right then and there. It was hard enough having to speak to this happy pregnant woman let alone receive a comment such as that. I ran to my office and sobbed for what seems like eternity. Thankfully, I have a few wonderful friends at work who are very supportive and really helped me "take one day at a time". Try not to focus on tomorrow or the next day. If you need to cry, then try to find a private place and do so. Sometimes it helps to let those emotions out, and most importantly focus on the day in front of you and remember that you have just been through such a painful and traumatic event and survived!! You are strong and will only get stronger. All the best..
