Metformin worked very well for me. I have PCOS and each time I used it, I got pregnant within a month. (Unfortunately i lost both of my babies because of other unrelated issues). I will say that Metformin is great because it makes you ovulate, but I never knew when I did. I still didn't have regular cycles, but I guess I just ovulated randomly, who knows. Metformin made me very sick and gave me stomach problems, but I was very glad to take it, especially after I knew that it would help me get pregnant. Thank you, I have PCOS and my doctor knew this when I got pregnant. Knowing that the risk for miscarriage is much higher with PCOS and I bled the whole pregnancy she still did not put me on this which I don't understand why. So I'm just getting advice from everyone. Thank you

I have had PCOS for several years and tried different treatments and tests so that my husband and I could have a family. 2 years ago, I got pregnant on my own but miscarried at about 8 weeks. Now we are trying again and my doctor put me on Metformin. At first I was confused at why I was taking an RX meant for a diabetic person. But did some research and found that doctors prescribe this medicine for women who have irregular periods with little or no ovulation. At first the medicine didn't bother me. then I started feeling tired and dragging and sick, so I stopped taking it. I recently went back to my doctor who explained a little more about the medicine and the pregnancy rates using Metformin. He lowered my dosage and so I am trying it again. So crossing fingers and praying it will work.
