Hello! My name is Alex, my boyfriend Ben is leaving soon for Japan. He is stationed at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina and I live in California. We knew eachother throughout highschool but as of recently we have gotten serious. He is deploying to Japan at the beginning of September. I am flying out in three weeks to attend his graduation in NC and spend the weekend with him before he leaves. I keep telling myself I'm ready for him to leave but I dont think you can ever prepare yourself to watch someone you love leave you for 8 months. I've been reading a lot of posts in these support groups and I've gotten a lot of good ideas how to keep myself busy and cute things to do for him while he's away, any other advice? I'm nervous about these 8 months and I keep overthinking he won't want to be together during that time or he'll come home and have decided he wants to be with someone else. Any and all advice helps! I would love to hear ya'lls stories and advice! XOXO

Sounds very romantic... How was his graduation, did you get a chance to fly out to North Carolina. How hard was it for you to endure the eight months of his deployment, I know physical touch is important in a relationship, what did you do to supplement the lack of ability while your service member was deployed... I'm sure you both came up with something creative and cute between you both to make sure, your love tank is fueled. I'm so glad to know you share your story on dailystrength.
